Click hereI stood upon the highest peak,
Arms extended as I wait.
But you chose to shut me out,
Hiding in a bottle and your self-loathing.
Love is patient.
I stood upon the highest peak,
The storm raged all around me.
Your tears washed down like rain,
The echoes of your cries on the wind.
Love endures.
I stood upon the highest peak,
Basking in the sun,
Yet feeling so cold and tired.
Wondering where you are.
Love always hopes.
I died upon that highest peak,
Perishing from the hunger,
Of a love unfed.
A pile of ash where I once stood.
Love hurts.
If you love someone, set them free.
If they return, it was meant to be.
I would rather hurt than not have loved.
I am the phoenix and shall rise again.
Love conquers all.
This beautiful, piercingly poignant poem went straight to my heart! Thank you!
