So I’ve been having a series of confusing dreams. That to my embarrassment. I’ve really enjoyed. I decided to write a poem, to try to sort out my feelings.

I never had a gay dream before
Until after she gone
Someone call Dr. Freud.
Cancer metastasized to the brain stem
In three months, nothing to be done.
So she went and died
Now she appears to me naked in dreams
I don’t know what to do
I want to help in some way.
So I kiss her all over
Trying to stop the upcoming thunderstorm.
First in our small class to go
A gay dream and she’s there naked.
What’s happening to me?
What does this vision mean?
I braid dandelions and daisies into her hair long black hair.
Twist it up in the cinnamon bun hairdo she liked.
Still she lies there naked in my arms.
Sometimes on a beach, sometimes on a grassy hillside.
I can’t explain why I’m caressing and kissing her.
I’ve never had gay dreams before.
But, here she is relaxed and naked in my arms.
Husband snores like a jackhammer besides me.
Teething baby cries about her hard baby life.
I just want her back in my arms, even if she’s naked.
I want everything to be alright.
Can we tell Heaven from Hell?
I just want her back naked in my arms.
Braiding dandelions and daisies in her hair.
This is my unrequited love song.
I don’t know what else to say.
I love and make out with her in my dreams.
I enjoy it and savor it
Even if it’s not morally right.
An unrequited love song.
