Unspoken prayer
Kneeling on the little stair

Too much light gets in
One crack too many
Paper thin

I cannot fight

The walls that kept my insides in
Were torn away that night

Now season's end and we begin
To feel the darkness drawing in
I find no comfort in
A name
Reduced
To nothing but a flame

Love and light are not the same
Though both pretenders often claim
To be the mother of desire

They lie

A heart a hand a mind an eye
Are only good until they die

The tongue that boldly questions why
Is also subject to the lie

The truth beyond my ken
I'll write it down again
I loved you then
