Click hereLuckily we had two bikes, so we could ride two-up. Vacations were fun and even wet at times, but we were all together. The first time I heard Danny tell Nadine he loved her, I felt complete. It had all been worth it. I'm not saying it was always easy, but we thought we had the best marriage going.
I still visit Lana's grave every so often. I bring her up to date, and though it may sound a little strange, I sometimes bring pictures. Do I miss her? I think I always will, but I have a new love in my life, and I know Lana understands. I tell Lana one day in the future I'll introduce her to Nadine, and I know they'll be the best of friends, but for now I'll just live my life like she would have wanted me to.
Though I may have died a little when Lana left me, I'm just glad I met someone who brought me back to life.
very good story . my daughter died of breast cancer at 30 yrs old 9 years ago . she had a 4 yr old daughter and an 8 yr old son . in her case they did chemo first which didn't work, and waited 4 months to operate ,bad idea,it had spread by then . i miss her every damn day .
Very moving story I also have bowel cancer so understand what she went thru BUT i must also be a romantic as I was so happy for the both of them in the end (jaybee186) This is my second read Keep up the good work
I think I decided that this is my all-time favorite story on this site. I think the title should be renamed and called "Tina Marie". She is the true hero of this story. That little girl saved the lives of her dad and stepmother. She probably also saved the life of her stepbrother, though we don't much about him. I have read other tear jerkers like the promise and grief and although this one has a similar hero to grief, Tina played a major and dominant role. I read other comments that it should be made into a movie, I second that.
Second time I read this story. I cried more this time than the first. You clearly outdid yourself with this one. Bravo
Well done. Bit bloated in the middle section. But the emotional pathos and love was well conveyed. Lana's struggles with cancer was heart rending. Glad he found a second love. He was dead to the world out of his daughter and close family for quite some time. 5 stars.
