She goes to her boss and confesses to this mistake. Her boss, trusting her friend and co-worker a lot more than the new guy, fires this guy and threatens him with a lawsuit if any information gets out. Or she succumbs to the easiest blackmail attempt ever.

Hell, she needs to be punished for having a lobotomy before she started working at her job. Oh well, it gets the story going.
