The starts are not part of the Solar System.

On page 2 about 40% of the way down, you wrote,

"Then there were the background stars. The constellations didn't look anything like they should. It was like the whole solar system had suddenly changed. We were all completely baffled."

"Solar system" is not the right phrase here, galaxy maybe. Or "solar system and the nearer stars".

Great story, just a nit. 5 stars.
