I'm sorry but this is completely implausible, there is no way she's not going to know who the man is until she "accidentally" sees him. She went to his house and he talked to her. Just the simple fact that he was the one that answered the door would have given it away. She's supposed to have been in love with this man for 6 years, but suddenly she doesn't know his voice or his build, nevermind the fact that he talked about when they first met.
