You pulled a game of thrones season 8 on this series. Were you bored with the story, and wanted to end it in a hurry? The ending seemed really rushed and unsatisfying. I hope that if you get time and have the inclination, you improve the ending and republish it.

I enjoyed the exploration of the dehumanising aspects of slavery. Feel like there's room for even more depth on that topic. Your treatment of the theme meant I was able to enjoy the development of the relationship despite the situation.

For me, the conclusion was just a little rushed, with only a taster for the relationships and intimacies of the expanded family.

Loved your story! Following the progression of Marcus and Rebekah’s relationship from sexual exploration to building deep love for each other was very enjoyable. It was nice to hear of plans to free Rebekah, I was wondering if it was going occur after she risked her life to save his during the kidnapping. Freeing slaves after they displayed such loyalty was not uncommon in Roman times. Thank for writing and sharing!
