how a woman who doesn't enjoy pain could put up with receiving heavy amounts of it, just to prove her love and submission to her sadistic "master." I realize it is consensual, but in this story it crosses the line to abuse, no matter how sweetly he cares for her afterwards. Why the need to whip her to almost unconsciousness? This author writes beautifully, but the reality of what she describes sounds hellish, not heavenly.
