Meant to give 5 stars on this one!!!!
I knew I would love this story when it popped up in the Similar Stories. Super romance. Loved the story line. Maybe a little more suspense or tension surrounding the two main characters but still great read. Thanks John
(1/4/2022) A nice heartwarming story. It was an enjoyable read. Thank you for submitting.
Really nice, clean love story. Maybe fantasy but it gives us hope. Hard to read this in today's times but it does provide a sense of happiness.
Came back to this story to add it to my favorites, still love it and wish the author wrote more romantic stories of the same length or slightly longer. Still a 5* story.
This story has all the excitement of a warm wash cloth. There's not the smidgeon of tension and the corny scenes between Rory and Emily start to get a little tedious after the first "detective" session in the market. The people are soft - nothing to indicate any real depth. It was assembled well so I gave it a overly generous 3*
@Overcritical I see you are still posting your BS... as I have said many times before .. If you think you can write a better story feel free. Then we can be unfairly critical of your efforts. This story was well done. Yes some parts were predictable but just about anyone could see where things were headed (that it was a Romance told us all where it was headed). But it was a very believable pace. 5*
Also to @Overcritical: I guess you use A LOT of warm wash clothes. Have you EVER played with kids? If you had, you would know that they don't play a game ONLY once, if it's fun for them they'll play over and over. I noticed on your bio page there are no stories (and before you say anything, neither do I) and that the ONLY favorite author you have mostly does Loving Wives. I suggest you stick to them instead.
This was a fabulous story. We knew where the road lead, it was a matter of HOW we got there. Very well done. 5 glorious stars (more if they were available).
Very good, characters were a bit two dimensional and the plot a bit obvious, but hey it’s a romance, so it’s not like we don’t know there’s a happy ending, so judge it on what it is, not what you wish it was, anything else isn’t relevant tbh.
I 100% agree with GrandEagle53 about kids, they play or watch things over and over because they then know what’s coming, it provides comfort/control for them in a strange and unfamiliar world they are not in control of, as we learn and grow it’s easy to forget our life as children.
P.S. Mrs Ppfzz teaches 7-11 olds, hence my knowledge, it helps parents understand why their 5yr old watches the same movie repetitively for months.
Frankly, most true love stories don't have much more excitement than both parties being a bit unsure, some this is rather realistic. In the current world situation I don't fancy a lot of tension, this is just nice.
This story is the best I have read in as very lon time. Although I have not read many in the Romance category, this may lead me to investigate the theme. Well done.
Re-read this wonderful romance. I do enjoy good stories with characters that make sense to me. So what if it’s obvious that they will end up together. I see that happen often in real life. Some should be together others not so much 🙄.
Still this was enjoyable and entertaining. Thanks fir sharing with us. John
What a sweet love story, it was well written with great character development. My only complaint is that the story wasn't extended for a really happily ever after such as Ashley and Rory getting married and a brother or sister for Emily. Well done 5++stars.
A nice bland story with little excitement and no surprises. Great reading for 6th grade girls.
An excellent story. Thank you for realizing that not everyone needs the explicit sex in every story.
I like how Merlin_the_Magician is such a great critic considering he has yet to write anything!
Great story 5x, 2nd time thru. Glad you avoided the classic scene involving the confrontation with the bitchy returning ex you see in many of these story-types.

@Overcritical: as others have noted and stated, put your money where your mouth is. Criticizing someone who puts themselves 'out there' while hiding behind your mamma's aporon strings is pretty easy to do if you're a spineless person. I've got more than 1.2 million reads on my 37 stories, so I must truly suck at my hobby huh?
@Aurora Incident, you keep doing you, you're a great write and don't deserve unwarranted critiques like his!

Back for another re-read!
Great build up, great characters, great pay-off!
11/10 Princess Swing Sets!!!!!
WHAT a great story, and just a touch of sex, another chapter or two would be great
Good story, sappy and romantic....but the sex scene was sadly like a Hallmark special. No woman in my experience would be refusing oral sex from her partner (the whole "I need you inside me don't do anything else" trope is a pretty lazy way to avoid writing a sex scene) and the one-then-done missionary love making was such a let down.
.
Once the author gets more comfortable writing the sexual side of these stories they will only get better.
I mostly enjoyed the story. While I do enjoy the Romance and First Time genres the most, I'm with OverCritical on this one, and there's nothing wrong with that.
I will never understand commenters who have to poo-poo other commenters for, gasp!, having an opinion of their own. If the author didn't want honest feedback, they wouldn't have encouraged it by leaving comments open. The author doesn't need weirdly aggressive strangers on a porn site coming to their defense, and plugging your own stories and stats at the same time is ugly and shameful. Readers don't have to be writers in order to have valid opinions, and to suggest otherwise is juvenile. Grow up.
Author, thank you for a saccharine-sweet, feel-good story.
really really enjoyed this one!!! Great.
from past week I’ve been reading stories with theme of single parent meeting new partner for better of all. this one is 3rd. really stands unique. as someone wrote in comments, both are sure about each other without lot of tension in relationship development. I enjoyed this story for a change and lighter romance, since the characters and their personalities are believable.
the detective thing with little Emily was fabulous. Only thing I wondered was does an eight-year-old has such vocabulary and understanding? again, i know kids learn from elderly figures and can catch up, which is what I imagine author had in mind. other than that everything was a seamless reading without interrupting thoughts of my own.
Great one & thank you.
Ellie is a bitch of a sister!! Her first encounter with Ashley at Rory's home was just bitchy and annoying!! Entitled bitch thinks it's okay to demean her brother!!
Characters are fine, if a little one note, but there's no story here. The closest thing to conflict in the entire story is wrapped up before the end of the first page (her initial reaction to him chasing her daughter home). No one grows or changes or overcomes anything. There's no drama or stakes to anything that happens. It's not bad, but it could have been much better.
This is the fourth time reading this story, really great, would like to see a chpt. 2.
Great 5⭐️ story ,, this needs another chapter for the final of it,, the mayor dinner,,, the book being finished,, the marriage of the two and them moving in together and possibly a baby between them
Thanks for the well written story. The Character development was good, the conversations believable and the flow was excellent. Keep up the good work!!!
Another very good story, nicely written with good character development and a plot that wasn’t too far off being possible, but off putting when you switched from first person to second to third person narrative in the middle a couple of times.
Not everything needs drama, and this proved it. Thank you for an excellent story.
That was a very good story. When or you going to finish it. You can't just leave it hanging like that.
Very nice story but abrupt ending with the physical intimacy almost a brief afterthought near the end. Might as well take it out and post this story in non-erotic....
When I need a smil Ed this is one of my go to stories. It never fails to deliver just what I need. Thank you for sharing it.
Another time reading this great story. Still engaging and enjoyable. The interaction of his sister Ellie is so real and lends a nice touch of humor. The agent Reg is sorta annoying but I surmise that was intended. Super entertaining story. I had forgotten the details of Rory's breakup, so despicable. I loved the scene with the rival clerk and going to lunch, nice touch and fleshed out Amy's character. Thanks for this super story. John
This story was so much fun I had to read it again as it doesn't disappoint at all. Would be nice if real life were like that. Keep on on keeping on. Thanks to our author and his editors and helpers.
...she had a few marks left behind that, she felt, screamed out her motherhood to everyone that saw her naked.
- "everyone"? Just how many people see her naked...? *chuckles*
I've read this story often. So often, in fact, that the other day when I was cooking bacon I heard someone say in my head "It's not a gymnast, Rory!"
Ellie is an annoying bitch!!
So agents like Reg monitor how a writer spends his money!! So is Reg a book agent or financial advisor!!!
You wrote just one romance story and it was very good....an epilogue would be even better.
Lovely story. Well written. Very believable. Thanks I'll be reading more of your work. BardnotBard
LOVE IT! A very well written tale. Thank you for your time and talent. DMW aka Sumnut96
Very well-written. Good back stories, strong character development. No surprises but nice warm holiday story. And even mistletoe. Thanks.
Fantastic would have been nice if the Hollywood ex showed up at the mayor's party.
Lovely story, whoops! There go some man points! Wis life could be like that all the time but sadly we never plan it but we do grow old and lose loved ones and things change. Keep writing and I'll keep reading. 5 stars
Loved them together. Only thing that would've been a bow on the top would be an indication that he was going to start a line of children's mysteries with the H and Em detective agency. 5*
Very good story. Don't know her ex is so concerned about her getting close to her neighbor. They're divorced and he was having sex outside of his marriage vows. So he doesn't get a say in who she seeing.
Why didn't Roy have a bathrobe she could've put on. Why was her ex concerned about who she was with when he was messing around before they were divorced. Now that they are divorced what's his business now.
This was the most enjoyable story I have read in a long time. All the asides, the dropped cues, and the outright humor makes this one of the most upbeat funniest stories ever.
I knew were this going from the start, really. It was to see how slow Rory and Ashley finally come together.
5 stars for an enjoyable read.
Take Care
I was constantly on tenterhooks about the possibility of the ex inflicting some form of violence out of his bizarre fixation with who Ashley was seeing, and was glad that nothing happened.
I’ve read this story so many times I’ve got some parts memorized! Nice story.
Simply outstanding...thoroughly enjoyed this well written romantic journey...
5 stars
This is absolutely heavenly. Why can't I find more stories like this? Well stars are over rated but a 10 will do.
