Both Tom and Emily well developed characters, especially Emily. I am sure the “morality police” will have a hay day with her, but she comes across real, believable. Poignant/sad tale, well crafted — even last few lines reveal Tom.

@MigBird Thank you so much for the kind words! I am so glad you found the MCs believable and real. I genuinely like both of them, even though Emily is a bit of a mess. I actually considered inserting PTSD into her character as a partial explanation for her behavior but felt I lacked the expertise or experience to write that in a believable way, so I just left it as implied.
