Oh, I love apocalypse stories. This was well written and like how I think such a situation might be. But I also think that a complete whole family visit should happen first before any swaps are made.

From beginning the discussion to 'slut' in 2/3 paragraphs. I didn't finish the story.

Preppers tend to be in small, close-knit groups, and they tend to buy from the same outfitters; a family so close and they don't know each other or at least know someone in common strains credulity a bit. However, it's fiction, so a free pass. Waiting to see what develops.
