For an early work from a novice amateur writer, this is really great! Keep practicing and refining your prose. In particular, focus on your dialogue which is a bit rough in this piece. It might help to envision the scene in your mind or even articulate it out loud to make it sound like something someone would actually say. The pacing in this piece was really good.
