FWIW:
1 - B-52s were usually fueled a few hours before scheduled takeoff time, not days before.
2 - There is no Avionic Officer on a B-52 crew. The seat you describe is occupied by the Electronic Warfare Officer. (EW, not EWO, since EWO stood for Emergency War Orders in SAC.)
3 - The crew seats on the lower deck are used by the radar navigator and the navigator.
4 - The grate between the lower and upper decks is not heavy.
5 - The bunk has a long circuit breaker panel about two feet above it, leaving very little room for a head-bobbing BJ or a vigorous face fuck.
FYI - I flew B-52s for eleven years, including 4+ years at a northern tier base.
