I'm confused about what the fuck the story is about. What's an alpha or an oedipal zone?no back story or explanation of anything.

I would assume an "oedipal zone" is a place where incest is legal.

I prefer the lack of world exposition. It adds a level of realism, as in real life people aren't constantly explaining things how the laws works - it is assumed everyone already knows.
