PerfectStranger828 months agoThe story continues very lovely and sweet as they grow ever closer and through their gradual coming-out process.
It’s always depressing how much damage the rich and powerful can cause in a sheltered society where everything is about keeping up appearances, and the degree to which politics — machination, not policy — permeate such a society on every level.
We are coming ever closer to the inevitable clash with the old dragon, which of course could have unexpected outcomes, but more likely not. It would be a shame if one were to support those closest to oneself in their endeavours and life choices; there is always the chance that doing so could look bad on oneself, which, naturally, must be avoided at all costs.
Lovely that her children — relatively — quickly supports her to such a degree, at least while the relationship is secret. I’m guessing Will could face some challenges when it becomes common knowledge (“What would our ‘friends’ say if we let our daughter date the son of a dyke?” Friends, of course, wouldn’t say anything, but how many of those do one really have if the name of the game is Keeping Up Appearances?)
