There's not much here except a guy is chucked into a crock pot and rather than fight to get out or break the machine, or knock the syringes loose, he just sits and accepts his fate. When it comes down to losing his mind, he fails to do the easiest thing in the world, close your eyes and cover your ears. It was clear that throughout the process, his arms were free and he was a pretty big guy. He also could have had a plan to run away once receiving the dreaded email. The "mind wandering" while all the changes happen, makes no sense. Adrenaline and stress would be through the roof, giving him a chance.
