Birthday Pool Party Ch. 09

"I still want Keith dead." Lexi hisses.

"So do I." Daddy answers darkly.

"Well, we can't kill him." I say, "And an exam will just traumatize me further."

"I think reporting it might be a good idea, Kayla." Daddy says, "Now that I think about it. You don't have to get a rape kit done. Just report that it happened to the police. I'm thinking about the next girl he does this to."

I sigh. He's right. If Keith does this to another girl and I could have done something? That would traumatize me. I won't do a rape kit. There's no point, and I don't want some doctor poking around my coochie.

"Okay, let's report him." I say. "We'll go tomorrow. And I'll call my doctor on Monday to see who she recommends for a therapist."

"I love you, Kayla." Daddy says sincerely.

"I love you, too." I say.

"And I love you both!" Lexi chimes in, making us all smile.

That night, the three of us watch a movie and cuddle on the couch. I don't want to sleep alone, so the three of us end up in sleeping bags on the main living room floor. We chat most of the night. I tell Daddy everything. I tell him about hooking up with guys, about swapping partners with Brittney, and about the DP.

I expect him to be sick, but no, he is understanding and supportive. He just keeps telling me how much he loves me and that he is still very proud of his baby girl. I've been so stupid. I don't need romantic love, and I don't need to hook up with every guy in the state to fill the hole inside me. I have the support I need right here. Daddy and Lexi.

The next day we do go to the police station to report Keith. This goes about as expected, they recommend I see a therapist and acknowledge that, without evidence, there really is no way to arrest Keith. The female cop I talk to is really nice. She believes me and wishes she could do more. I tell her to just try and keep him from doing this to someone else. The female cop actually hugs me.

We spend the rest of Sunday as a family. Lunch is fast food, then Lexi kicks our butts at mini-golf again. Seriously, I don't understand how she's so good. We go see a movie and then go out to a nice dinner at a fancy restaurant.

Sunday evening Daddy and Lexi offer to stay with me, but I assure them I'm fine. After about ten minutes, they finally agree to head upstairs to bed early. I smirk as I imagine them fucking each others brains out.

Monday morning I head back to school. The day starts out pretty normally until Dan runs into me. He asks if I wanna hook up during lunch again. I tell him that I won't be doing that anymore. He's disappointed, but understanding.

During lunch, I call my primary care physician for a referral to a therapist. I call the therapist and make an appointment for Wednesday after school. The woman sounded really nice on the phone and I hope that she can help me work through things.

The school day ends and I start to head out to meet Lexi when I am stopped by Ian. The poor boy looks like he's about to wet himself or run away. Or both. I wait patiently for him to speak up, and when he does, I am very surprised.

"Will you go to the prom with me?" Ian asks.
