I suppose you used your literary license to change the names and even combine a couple of them, but those places on O St. SE between Half and S. Capital hold some sweet and familiar memories for me. I didn't arrive in the area until the mid 1980s, but from your description, the actions apparently hadn't much changed from the 70s.
