Author's Note

I wrote this story after going to the fair with my husband of 25 years. He watched me ride the zebra, smiled at me, waved to me just like all the other fathers around the carousel. A year later, to the day, he passed away from pancreatic cancer. When I wrote the story, I intended to be a fun, naughty story inspired by a wonderful day at the carnival. The ending wrote itself and I cried as I wrote, not sure why it came out to be so sad. So, for my loving husband, I will visit the Carousel and wait for you. I miss you so much, my love, my friend, my forever. Maggie
