Maybe it isn't supposed to be the real Santa Catalina island in California, but there are at least 2 other spellings in the title and text. Maybe I'm atypical, but that triggers an inherent bias in me.

A dictionary and thesaurus would probably help. Your stories are ok, but learning words like coaching, instead of couching (is that laying on the couch, or what?), and the meanings of there, their, they're would help to make it something much more readable.
