Now now. If Marcus was a Financial Analysist and you were discussing high finance, he would know that the richest men in the world (top three) have just over $200-260 Billion each! (If we dismiss confiscated riches that a guy like Putin has!) So saying that Marcus has just inherited $930 Billion dollars is a tad over the top. Perhaps you meant $930 MILLION. That is more believable. Making him almost a Billionaire.
Nope. I meant Billion with a B. I wanted to give him more money than God.
The absurd amount of money removes the reader from the story as it doesn't make sense.
Even 10 billion would be more than he could ever spend ever. He couldn't even spend the interest fast enough.
900b just stops the reader dead in their tracks and makes them say 'oh, this isn't actual earth, this is some alternative crazy place"
I agree with the previous comment; $930 Billion immediately make this story completely unbelievable. Anything that follows would also be unbelievable; that absurd premise is what is causing me to abandon this story.
