Plausibility is always a big issue when I read a story on this website. You delivered, Gold Rogue. Thank you for that. One important point: take one for posterity (future generations); not prosperity (the accumulation of wealth).

The word is shuddered, not shuttered - as in closed for the winter.
Other than that I gave it five stars, but no one seems to see that wrong usage. I can hope though.
