"Umm," Celestine unexpectedly began, only to look afraid. "N-Never mind."
Eliza seemed to assume what was on her mind. "My dear Celestine, you may also do as you please."
Astaer abruptly looked over her shoulder again, seeming shocked. "Really?" she said hopefully.
"Yes," Eliza replied confidently, focusing up at the older sister. "So long as you also respect my request."
Astaer immediately looked forward again, in order to look over her other shoulder, the two sisters holding each other's gazes for a long few seconds, before Astaer looked ahead and Celestine lowered her gaze.
Both seemed pensive.
Because the Queen's request, to not cause me heartache, was a serious one to consider.
It would likely involve a more serious commitment than what I was sure either one of them had mentally prepared for.
