where did you get the yacht what does that have to do with anything??

The last sentence is a reference to chapter 2, where Derek asks: "Can I ask where you got a boat?"

Where Jackie and/or the host of ethereal beings got the yacht is, of course, inconsequential.

The gag is this: having experienced a whole new method of perception and having learned about the true nature of his otherworldly GF--Derek returns to unanswered minutiae (like how enchanted beings obtain a yacht).

If I have to explain it, I guess it didn't work :P, but the above was my intention.
