"Please Rick? Please?"

Rick was silent. Karin almost didn't dare to breathe and waited silently and apprehensively. Almost fifteen minutes later, he smiled, sadly, but it was a smile. He asked Karin, "Do you know how two hedgehogs make love?"

Karin was flabbergasted. What was that for an answer? she thought, but answered, "No. 'Why?"

Rick smiled again and said, "Very carefully. Shall we try to be like these hedgehogs?"

It took Karin a few seconds to see the implication of Rick's question. She cried out, relieved and happy, "Yes, yes yes!"

Why did you kill off Linda ??? And why did you bring Karin back into his life in the end??? He’s just going to be screwed over again by Karin 3⭐️

A very touching and insightful examination of one man's life and the women he loved and that loved him.

The final chapter was terrifically sensitive. Linda’s illness and passing brought this old retired soldier to tears, even though I chastised myself for it. I have to give an author who displayed an understanding of humanity the highest possible rating.
