The mom might seem a bit shallow and self-absorbed, but reality is that there are scores of women who go after it like this mom. The daughter's been thoroughly indoctrinated in that lifestyle. She finds a guy who checks all the boxes. Hallmark has made billions on Christmas movies with plots much like this one. This isn't social commentary, its an adult fantasy with a happy ending (ok, lots of happy endings ;-) ! 5*
