"Thank you." she whispered, and the spider made a little bowing motion. She let him pick her up again, and together they returned to the nest and sleep. Her new little one was already an independent being, and she knew that it would only be another day or so before it took itself out into the wide world on its own.
She snuggled into the hammock, and stroked the spider along a forelimb in thanks. She had finally found a place she could be safe and secure and warm. She had finally found a place to call home. It would be rough, living in a cave, but she felt that as long as she was free from the humans' cruelty she would be safe.
