"They said that they really liked her. They also told me that the two of you were really good friends when you were kids and that she had some really funny stories about you from back then."

"Yes, we are good friends and it goes far beyond work. I don't know if you remember meeting her father, Richard, when he would come to visit my Dad, but their family was really close to ours when I was growing up. Hell, she was probably my best friend until they moved away during my junior year."

"I know all about that too. In fact, she told me a lot about you when I talked to her."

"Wait, you talked to Jackie?" I asked in shock. "When? How?"

"When I called her, silly. After our first couple of dates, I wanted to know the deal with you two before I let things get too serious. So, I pestered Carly until she gave me Jackie's number and I called her."

"Oh shit! So, you've known about me and Jackie the whole time?"

"Yes, dear. I've known about Jackie the whole time and it's okay. I understand. I won't lie, I'm not thrilled about what happened between you two, but I realize that we are divorced and that you did nothing wrong. Plus, as far as I can tell, you've ended that part of your relationship with her since we started dating again, so it's not really a problem for me as long as you keep it that way."

"I can't believe that I've been dreading this conversation for weeks and then I find out that you knew all along. I should probably be mad, but to be honest, it's a huge relief."

"Good, so now you don't have to worry about it anymore," she said. "Now come over here and give me a kiss and a big hug."

I don't think I've ever squeezed her so tight in my life. This was certainly not the woman I had been married to before. The old Allison would have never had the self-confidence to make that call and have that conversation with Jackie. I was really thinking that I liked this new Allison even better than the old one as we settled back onto the sofa with my arm around her and her cuddled up against me.

I was just starting to relax again when she said, "So now that you're off the hook with the whole Jackie thing, maybe you would like to tell me about this friend of hers. I think her name was Tanya."

I’ll go with it. I really don’t think she deserved forgiveness. Why????

Because she admitted she would’ve fucked him a second time despite swearing earlier she wouldn’t cheat again

That admission by her was never truly followed up by him, and it was a killer.

the usual raac story. friend talking him back on getting back to his ex, him not moving on etc etc. Not sure why he'll take her back, she admitted she was going to fuck the douche again if he hadn't caught them. So it was not going to be a one time, she felt guilty the first night and didn't tell him. If she really did though she wouldn't have gone back with him she admitted it herself that she would have sex again with the douche. How trust could be restored after that I would never understand, and the wife didn't even work to get a second chance, it was totally all the mc friend that push him towards raac.

Nice…a RAAC that is well written with a clear logic trail fully justifies the RAAC conclusion with proper foreshadowing as well as a well defined protagonist who is normal. Great job!

In so many of these stories, when the husband catches his woman cheating, he pulls out his phone or camera and literally just sits there watching his wife fuck another man. Or he'll record a little then run away 'angrily' without doing anything. I always found that so frustration.

I loved that in this story he actually got up like a man with self-respect and intervened. It's because he did that that reconciliation was ultimately possible. Everyone came out happy. It's much different from the stories where the husband just sits there recording then letting the affair go on for weeks or months as he goes on some long intricate BTB vendetta where he reveals to her he knows about the affair in the most histrionic manner possible.

Cool stuff homie, cool stuff

Thanks--- wonderful time of entertainment. Left me with a calm and warm and happy feeling--- after all, that's what I read these stories for. Sad for those who are so shallow as to some how think the characters are real and then they get off gushing about how these fake characters should have done this-or-that different. Even sadder is that some readers go through the looking glass into another "room" where they think it's all the authors fault for "creating" bad people( characters) and they lecture. Hey folks--- this is fiction for entertainment. ENJOY

I actually found the comment from 2 weeks ago while extremely long to be quite a good analysis of the story and various character viewpoints. Long, but better than reading "cuck", "wimp", "slut" comments submitted by trolls. But yeah paragraphs would definitely be a wise move.

1st, liked the story & how at the end, he's sweating about telling his ex about Jackie when the ex knew about her. Great ending for the story.

2nd, for the commenter some 5 months ago who asked how could he take back "the slut". One mistake doesn't make one a slut. But getting on one's high horse & saying that makes the commenter an idiot. I suppose they never made a mistake in their lives. OK, she was going to have sex with him a 2nd time, but not only was stopped, took action so she wouldn't have anything to do with that guy again. Enough said.

Well written & put together. 4 stars Bob

Only skimmed the story & it looks interesting, so I'm going back to actually read it. I'll rate it then. The comments also interest me in reading the story. However, & I've noticed this from other read stories, a commenter, like below mine, writes a massive 1 paragraph review. Don't these people know it makes it very hard to read that way? And I'm sure that I'm not the only person that doesn't read those types of comments. USE PARAGRAPHS!! Bob

Not sure why so many commenters are castigating the MC. He overheard heard the conversation, recorded it, and knew that she was about to agree to a second time. A one time drunken celebration is one thing but Kevin wa spushing for number two and she was coyly playing along while flirting in the restaurant. Ironically for objectively mediocre but illicit sex. She admitted she would have gotten back into bed with Kevin despite feeling guilty after the first time and swearing to never do it again. She did not confess to her husband, willing to take it to her grave and who knows when the affair would have stopped ultimately. It would have poisoned their marriage, affecting her mood and make.her lose respect for her husband. A one off drunken tryst is one thing but she wanted to be desired by another man and she wanted illicit sex. It somehow filled a need for her as she aged and her family evolved. But a second premeditated time is waaaay not cool. Yes he was furious with Kevin. So what? That makes him an asshole. Screw that. He stopped after he terrified Kevin. Then burned his ass later as he had PIs follow Kevin and find him screwing other women while he himself was married. Glad Alison got therapy but nothing earthbshattering cane out of her disclosure as to why. She wanted something, got some bad advice, and looked for strange, thinking she wouldn't get caught with an infrequent sexual affair through her catering business. Unfortunately for her she was caught. And guess what. Yes they got divorced. He gave her time to see if he coukd get past it and he couldn't. His choice. That was asking a lot anyways. Imagine he caught her three mo ths later after bonking Kevin every couple weeks? He would never have contemplated for one iota to take her back. Instead they both went through a divorce that killed their old marriage and sent them both into grief, well.more grief for her and more anger for him. Yes he tossed his infidelity (not adultery) with Rachel in front of Aliso 's face but she knew that was her fault. He stopped. He only got with Jackie the slut until after the divorce. Nothing wrong there. He took Jackie's advice and severed their relationship, purely sexual and wrnt back and dated Alison, who had the guts and smarts to call Jackie and find out what was going on and if this was real. They had been divorced for like 9 months before he even contemplated a new relationship with Alison. For many men, her betrayal was worthy of divorce. But not so egregious as to prevent reconciliation. With therapy, time alone, and self examination, she turned over a new leaf. He was willing to try again (though a post nuptial was probably wise). The key thing is that he intervened on that restaurant. A real man intervenes and confronts. Period. Talk and argue later. Intervene before it all goes to hell. Idly sitting back and watching things unfold is pathetic. He held on to his agency and had to time to debate his course of actions. He chose divorce. She gave him a better than 50/50 split showing her remorse and acknowledging her guilt. After the discovery, Alison did everything right. She owned up to it (though the reason why was a bit tropish), took responsibility, asked for more time, didn't blame.him for Rachel (she blamed herself), got therapy and lived like a nun after the divorce. She spoke time Jackie and got an idea of where his midnight is at and in now way blamed him (how coukd she?). She did one selfish act, followed by a near-repeat, except for his intervention, and then worked to make amends. Seems.clear.he can trust the new Alison. She knows what she did was heinous, broke their old marriage, and caused him great pain. After the divorce she did not pressure him. So I am fine with reconciliation here. She worked to fix her problem. He in turn remembered the good times and realized what was he doing with a slut like Jackie that would go nowhere beyond bimonthly f@ck bunny. Whatever makes him happy. Criticizing him for a divorce is inane. Criticizing him for seek to remarry, is your own projections being cast on a decent fictional story filled with fictional characters.

Anon, so having sex outside marriage once makes Allison a slut, but Jackie doing everyone and everything for years isn’t slutty?

Some of you are either emotionally stunted, twelve, or live in your parents basement with a blowup doll.
