"You're a fucking bottom feeder, Marc LaVaillere, you almost ruined my life this time last year, and you have the fucking gall to walk in here and pretend you don't know me to try it again!"

"Lady, I don't...." suddenly, his eye went wide.

"Lacy, I recall you," he smiled at her then turned to look up at me. "Keen for another round, I'll rock your world again, and you will never need to think of this cuck again."

"You dickhead, it's Linda." Dave corrected him, glaring at someone who contributed to his own marriage breakup.

Linda purposely put her heel into his hand as she turned to me. Marc moaned. "Darling, I think you need to take me back to our room and fuck me hard like you always do, then follow it up with that oh so sweet lovemaking that makes me gush. I find that I need to get the poor taste of LaValliere out of my system, he fucks like a Neanderthal, but has no technique." Linda moved and helped me out of my seat. "Oh, and Marc," She bent down. "I should let you know that while you look alright, you're actually a pretty average lover."

She glanced from him to me, then back to him. "Tonight, I am going to get fucked by a real man, bye!"

When we walked out of the club, the bouncer, the same one on the door as last year, had a massive grin on his face and fist-bumped me. As Linda melted into my side, I felt ten feet tall. That night Linda and I didn't stop fucking till the sun came up. She made sure I fucked her mouth, her pussy and her ass and would not stop grabbing me possessively and mouthing the word 'mine' any time for the next week.

The following week, we read in the paper that Marc LaValliere would have to be sidelined due to a hand injury this season, and to make matters worse, videos had started arising of him hitting on wives around the place. As a result, he was traded to a lesser club in another state, and within a year, his pro career ended.

Linda and I found out a few weeks after that night we would become parents again. Linda cried and held me thanking me for forgiving her. I held her and laughed. She looked at me, and I noted, "I do have to say I was worried, but this February didn't really suck."

[:::: Authors End Note ::::]

Thank you, everyone, for reading my take on February Sucks. Again, respect George Anderson for writing a great story in the first place and then allowing so many of us to have a go of our variation.

Some of the reconciliation in this one came from someone in my immediate family who went through their spouse cheating on them many years ago. They separated for a time but came back together. Today they are still married and have a child. I have talked to both of them, and they have admitted how difficult it was to get past the infidelity. It was from the person cheated on that I first heard the term better with them than without long before I heard it here in an LW story.

See you in the next story.

After 5 days unconscious in a hospital, the patient wakes. Oh he's awake! Would you like us to contact anyone to let them know you're here?

One of the worst versions on the site... for many reasons.

I have read most, if not all, the different versions of this story and like many others enjoy the plot and the ensuing emotions it generates. I think it all comes down to morals and values. Even when we aren't "thinking straight" due alcohol or lust it is our inner value system that kicks in and prevents us from doing stupid things. If we don't have a strong value system in place we may find ourselves regretting our actions. A person once told me to develop strong habits and it will sustain you when you are not thinking.

I was so glad that Jim and “Lacy”🤯 stayed together. I feel that being Jim’s wife “Lulu”🤬 has shown she is beyond sorry and I doubt that Jim and “LaToya” will be okay from here going forward. I almost forgot, I wanted to give my congratulations to Jim and “Layla” on their upcoming birth of little bundle of joy and if it a girl then I think the perfect name would “Linda” as it is so uncommon. Great story that was incredibly sweet at times and deeply disturbing and overly emotional throughout.

hello, I am French, I have read all the versions of "February suck", I have a lot of respect for G Anderson and all the authors who tried to write a sequel, but yours is by far the best , in my opinion. you knew how to describe the feelings and emotions that went through Tom and Linda, you made them fragile and human, thank you for your kindness.

Please excuse my English, it's translate's fault...

5 out of 5. I usually would be in the BTB crowd (and yes Saddletramps version is terrific) but the author really pulled this ending to the classic George Anderson tale off very well. It is a classic in my opinion as is George Anderson's original.

I liked this resolution, and I completely agree with other readers who spelled out in some detail the reasons why this story worked so well. The injury to Jim really did provide a catalyst for Linda to be alone and look at herself in the mirror for a few weeks. The story resonated with me as a long-time husband, albeit a less-than-perfect one. Marriage is hard, and breaking one up is even harder. The author did a wonderful job with Linda’s emotions and feelings, with what I think is just the right touch to be very credible. Five stars for sure.

Certainly one of the best sequels to the "February Sucks" saga. Have to agree with others that the time in the hospital allowed the story to develop well. It let Linda have the time and space needed to realize how much she had hurt Jim.

Not sure I can believe in RAAC for the original story or this version due to the HUGE humiliation Jim suffered at Linda's walking out on a special night and then taking Marc back to Jim's hotel room. That scenario is soooooo over the top compared to an overnight fling that a husband discovers after the fact. And then add in the physical impacts of the bus accident ... not sure any normal person could recover.

/

However, the author does a very good job of rehabilitating Linda with her willingness to accept a divorce, her contrition letter, telling off Dee and Ruth's "counseling" of Linda. While the RAAC is hard to swallow, the ending, back at Morrison's and the confrontation with Marc redeemed the story for me.

Great writing. Thanks for another wonderful story.

This version rocked. It was great to see for a change that Linda didn’t take the “it was only one night” road and actually vomited when she realized that she laughed at assholes joke about the bus hitting some guy. I also loved the role that his mother played starting with that incredible SLAP! which I couldn’t stop laughing as I read that. You went an original direction and it paid off completely in this story. 5⭐️

One of the HARDEST bits about trying to write a reconciliation story to "February Sucks" is the fact that Linda is so outrageously in denial about the effects and ramifications of what she did. Hell, George Anderson didn't pull it off in his original story - you can tell by how many people do rewrites! After all, people don't rewrite great endings, do they? Anyway, you sort of neatly side stepped this problem by removing Jim from the picture and leaving Linda to grapple with the fallout almost immediately.

<>

This was a very good mood as it mitigates the damage to Linda's character and starts prompting her towards taking actions that could potentially redeem her in the eyes of the reader. Obviously, accepting guilt is a big one, dumping Dee is also a huge one likewise telling Jim that she won't fight him in the divorce or for custody of the children. In fact, she is totally accepting that she deserves to be divorced from Jim and I think it's this part that really undoes a lot of the damage that the original story did to Linda's character with her constant state of denial and delusion after her affair.

<>

At the end of the day, I feel like you managed to sell the reconciliation to me as a reader. Sure, there are going to be people who complain because they just hate the idea in general, but I can't point out to anything in your story that really struck me as off, or a wrong move, or counter to the ending you wrote. Which is frankly, a lot more than I can say for the original work. So well done. Total 5/5 from me.
