I came from your post on the AH and I have to say, this is really good! Low votes dragging down scores can be super frustrating, but it's not really a reflection of the quality of your work so try not to stress it. This first chapter is well-written, engaging, and it's a great setup. I think the fact that you're passionate and excited about what you're writing is really coming through - and that's most important! I'll have to check out the other chapters too sometime this weekend :)

Also I get that feeling of re-reading my stuff later and finding it cheesy too hahaha - I think we all do...
