EPILOGUE:
The divorce went through quickly. Rick agreed to buy Ilsa a condo. He refused to allow her to stay in his house. Bill and Roxy moved in there, with young Rosie. Ilsa got a lump sum and a monthly allowance. She wouldn't be poor, but not well off either.
Ilsa and Brady kept on their sexual relationship for two more years. Brady got tired of it. He began to cheat. Ilsa didn't know for some time. She got an STD. She had to take antibiotics. She cut Brady loose.
Her relationships with her family were not nearly as close as before her sexual adventure with Brady. She lamented that. She never was sorry for getting laid by young Brady, though. But she had no one in her bed at night, now. Things change as time goes by.
Rick and Jane became a part of the family. They had the granddaughters visit often. Bill and Roxy also visited, with Rosie, and, later, young John. Holly not so much. She and Eddie just didn't seem to be able to give up the idea that Rick should never have left home.
Rick and Jane got married. They did not promise to be ever faithful. They promised to respect each other's feelings and to be honest with each other. That worked out okay. They're still close friends with Rob and Marty. Every so often they......

nixrox14 days ago3 stars - Both the family intervention and the open marriage of the friends destroyed this story for me.
The secrecy behind the younger lover for the SLUT killed the marriage.
Then the SLUT really cratered the marriage, when she involved the whole family - guaranteed divorce.
Open marriages rarely survive, and especially now when the average divorce rate is above 50%.
So maybe we really need to rethink marriage - is it even relevant in this day and age?
nogravy4 months agoThe premise of the story had promise, but the presentation of the drama was very rote, or shall we say matter of fact. The dialogue was stilted, the narration matter-of-fact, and there was no defined dramatic progression to the story. All-in-all it was an average work, but I give it 4 stars for the obvious effort that went into its crafting.
Anonymous7 months agoA dislikeable story simply for its ending. Rick and Jane get together, no problem, their choice. Rick and Jane get married, but with no promise of fidelity? Then why marry? Just for the social status and to make some legal paperwork and procedures easier? No, as an ending them getting married was simply an attempt to validate the idea of open marriage. Just nasty.

Anonymousabout 1 year agoLots of good questions, my beef about this interesting stoiry is how come i had to learn all the various names of kids ,spouses and grandkids on pages 2 and after? Was v confusinfg trying to gigure out who was who and if any names replaces others from earlier in the story.rk
