What an excellent rollercoaster of emotions!!! I absolutely love this story. 5 stars are not enough! Thanks for the excellent read!

That was one of the best stories I have read. Would love to be able to read more. Part two please!!!
This was a nice uplifting story. Yup, scars can be both physical and emotional, and unfortunately, sometimes they are many. A nice read. Thank you for posting.
This is a very romantic, loving story. Overcoming the fear of meeting in his apartment was extremely brave. I am surprised that overcoming the rape was so fast. I never expected sex on the first date. Putting that aside, the rest is so believeable.
I like this. This might be a me issue, but the "I've put up a wall" trope, especially stated by name, bugs me. It seems played out and it might be able to be redescribed so it is not so thick; it might need to be scrapped altogether; I might not know what I'm talking about and some cheese might be unavoidable in the coquettish nature of relationships. I also had a cringe when upon their working out issues he says to love interest "are you going to keep running" or something like that. I might definitely don't know how to write dialogue, but it was jarring. It made me think of the satirized Hollywood one liners in the beginning of, I think, "tropic thunder". You might take the story too seriously in that moment or you might have just gone to a tired phrase within the meta of rom-coms, but this jarred me out of the story and got me skimming for a bit. It was a hell of a premise that showcased a lack of "shallow" attraction in a way I haven't seen before and I think by and large you handled it well.
This was a great story. Thank you for taking the time to offer such a heartfelt glimpse into the hearts of your characters.
Absolutely fantastic. A heartwarming story. Not too often does a story here make me tear up, but this one did so many times. Thank you for writing this touching tale
This is the second time I have read the story and enjoyed it just as much, I think there is plenty of scope for a sequel possibly regarding revenge on the perpetrator of Sarah's rape. 5*
Such an amazing heart warming story. I am also happy that it ends where it ends; every time I read it I can't help wondering what's next in the characters' lives. THAT is the hall-mark of good story-telling!
Such a beautifully written tale! I have read this story several times, and it still amazes me how well told it is. Keep up the excellent writing, and you might even be able to top it. I doubt that, but it is possible. Thank you, and 5***** .

Second time reading this story and enjoyed just as much the second time. Would love to see a follow up that lets your fans know what happened to the rapist.
This is the second or maybe third time I've read this and it's wonderful every time. If you do a follow-on story, you might want to center it around Paige and her future, backed by a loving, sympathetic older sister who has overcome her trauma with the man who loves her and whom she loves.
Insofar as it was probably one of the greatest stories ever posted on this site.
I was at the endovmy seat, loved it my eyes were watering during most of the story which is very hard for a 60year old man, bravo 5 stars plus, keep up the good work.Ed
Yes I was crying .. thank you very much .. I’ve got edwin007 beat though because I’m 66 !! What a great story ! I loved the characters and I had no idea what Sarah’s secret was .. but once it was revealed, I knew he wouldn’t care about a physical scar. As the father of a daughter I can’t imagine what their father felt … Anyway what a well written story .. thank you so much !!
A really touching story; I can only hope that some how, some way that you are still around and maybe write more. It is nearly 10 years so . . . . thank you for your story, second read! From all the comments I obviously am not alone.

Anonymous from a month ago - You ARE right, its you. Even though this is fiction the condition described does happen in cases where scarring occurs - psychological and in this case physical. They use a 'wall' or barrier to protect themselves. I can only hope that this was a brain fart on your part and that you use more sensitivity if you ever actually encounter someone who has experienced trauma. Not all disabilities are visible. Stupidity is an example.
You are a wonderful writer.
Changing the focus from the girl you saved, to the woman who cared for you was very smart.
If you want to be a better writer than this, ‘it will have to do for now’.

I cannot begin to express how very much this story touched me. I have struggled for decades with being thought heroic being part of the saving of young person in mortal danger. I cried so hard reading your story. It was just similar enough to rip my heart out. Thank you.
The obviously hurting anonymous who attacked the author and the story before this comment is lashing out. Don't be hard on her. The story struck a chord and hurt her. I won't presume to understand what she is going through but she didn't recognize that the scar was an allegory. It represents what all of us who have been so violated and abused feel. It's a mark of shame but in the case of Sarah, she didn't just believe everyone could tell, she knew it. Consider the damage.
I am a survivor and I am a therapist. I pay it forward. This story was expertly handled. There is no legitimate criticism here. It's about healing and moving forward. Knowing that some have hurts terribly and creates shame and humiliation within the self. It's normal to feel that way. For some it takes a lifetime and that's okay too.
To the anonymous poster if you ever see this, I am sorry for your pain but the story isn't the problem. If it made you feel bad I am sorry but it isn't the story. I hope you find the solace and help you need.

Excellent story - believable characters and a tender treatment of a very traumatic situation. We’ll done
I must say that when I read this story's title, I thought it will be the same saving a girl and then she falls in love with the hero. But making him fall in love with her sister who understands more about life and has gone through things from which he saved her sister makes the story perfect.
What a ride of emotion!
One of my top 3 stories of all time on this site, the story got me right from the start and continued to keep a steady pace, as I became enamored with the characters and the plot.
The technical execution of phrasing that was easy to read without being simple to the reader, and other things like grammar and spelling, was also top flight.
And the entire story is relatable to many in one way or another. This writer is a master of the written word, painting such a vivid canvas using a rich imagination.
My only sadness is that I checked and S-Des hasn't written anything here since 2012. I do hope S-Des has graduated to becoming a best-selling fiction author, to reap some of the rewards that he/she deserves!
Many thanks. This story will remain with me for a long time. For that I am grateful.
Great. Loved the switch from Paige to her sister. Loved the awakening. But did seem a bit fast.
Loved the story but agree with oldsoldier44 that it felt quick. Would have loved more buildup, more building of trust before they declared their love and had sex. Besides declarations of love during sex don't count, everyone knows that. :)
If a story brings tears to my eyes I like it...I like it. I think it would have been better to wait a while for the sex.
Really a too good story
Makes me to view raped victims in a different way
Thanks you for this story
Your a great story teller. How you built the story from start to finish with great details on each person. Great Job
Really enjoyed this story. Sad and happy at the same time. I only thought they had sex a bit quick as right as maybe some dates would be needed to for sarah to feel more comfortable and safe but I'm no expert. The tears came when paige sobbed on the phone and confessed that she just wanted sarah to be happy. That really got me. Lovely story
I thought that was an amazing story. One of the best I have read in a long time. I want to save it to read it again. It was perfect.

I don't know how long it has been since I read this the first time but stumbling across it I decided to re-read it. Once again I wasn't disappointed. I don't see any reason to change my five star opinion so it remains.
lovely story, and excellent grammar -- only two uses of that ugliest of all americanisms, "off of".
five stars!
Thank you for the beautiful story. The feelings and feelings of the characters are conveyed very accurately. It is very difficult to bring the feelings of an abused woman back to life. It is even harder to keep them and not to destroy them again.
This is the second or third time I've read it and it's a wonderful story each time, with fully realized people going through real emotions and questioning before landing at the joyful ending. 5 stars
You have a real talent please keep up the good work. This is the best short story I have ever read.
This is an absolutely terrific story. The only minor complaint I have is I guess I was expecting the epilogue to be a bit longer. But that being said it's all good.
this is klike the third time I have read this and still d not tire of a good happy ending one of my favorites !
An incredible moving and beautiful story. The way you wrote it and just almost everything it entails brings both a tear and a smile to my eyes and face!
I must agree with all the positive comments, what a crying shame you stoped writing nothing since 2012. ☹️☹️☹️
Loved this tear-jerker since I first read it, I came back for seconds in order to put it in my favorites list - and liked it as much or more than my first reading. This little tale gets a BIG 5. Thanks for writing it
Wonderful story seemed to flow very naturally. I got very emotionally involved and enjoyed the ending.
One of the best romance stories here. Shame you seem to have stopped writing or at the very least posting here.
story ok, just marred by lie/lay ambiguity, disconnections, and plain stupid northanericanisms. worst of all, the disgusting "off of". it removes most stars. one star left.
This story was so contiguous and the use of one incident to complete another.. The violence in the alley and saving the girl melt into the rape violence so well. The characters saving each other and the loving concern/care displayed was fantastic. Using flight, fight and love and caring for children to pull most of it together was literary excellent. Best story I have read on this site. Bravo. You should write some more stories....Maybe use the connectivity in different tags. Most of them could use it.
A wonderful story!
Enjoyed reading it immensely.
Your grammar didn’t detract that much from the storyline.
5 stars no cheating spouse to deal with, just a well written story.
Bill S.
A very well-written humanitarian story. Would like to read some more like this.
Fantastic story one of the best I’ve read on literotica now I’m going to have to look at all your other stories.
You're so right; these characters are special. Here's hoping they all live happily ever after: but DON'T let Paige run off with the guy who runs the roller coaster. :)
EXCELLENT!!!
A beautiful romance, born out of the horror of an attempted rape/murder. Both principle protagonists were in difficult psychological situations, both with self doubt and a degree of self loathing, him for his self perceived failure to attract and retain a partner, her as a result of guilt regarding the earlier rape and the terrible facial injury that she had received. Both parties had difficulty surmounting the barriers put up by the other, this led to a deception taking place which resulted in both parties consummating their relationship.
Thank you for writing and publishing this brilliant work, long may you continue.
This was soo amazing, when you had him set her up, whit the kids I seen it coming but OMGISH my I could not help it I broke down hard it was Soo sweet if some one did that to me I couldn't tell you how or what I would be fallowing him forever,
Thanyou so much, won't know what I was feeling before I got to your story, all I can think about is lucky it would someone would be to have our hero,
Thank you
Read a lot of the comments on this story, and I'd like to swim against the stream a little, but just can't do it. Wonderful story, gonna have to read more of this author.
You could tell that he'd get the girl in the end. Banging Sarah was the icing on the cake. Another chapter, please.
Maybe Sarah can tell Jeff she's pregnant with his baby. Is Sarah pregnant?
wow im in tears, a grown man in tears, not quite an emotional wreck but wow. This is so well written its beyond anything i have ever read on this site before.
I intend reading your other material but let me say again, this is beyond words, truly.
a deserved 5 stars and wish it could be more
Def 5 star plus.
Absolutely 100% worth every minute of reading it.
A brilliant write dealing with the trauma of a terrible event.
May you write many more superb stories.
After reading this again, I enjoyed the characters so much that I want to know more.
Nicely done. Thanks for sharing this tale with us.
This has to be my favourite of all the stories I've read in here and it's the one I hope my own stories will be half as good
