I growled at the man in front of me for he was not only interfering with my work, but he was also threatening me.

"If you don't hire me, I will call my father, he is the head of the Rock Valley clan. He will kill you and your pack, Otis," The skinny man screeched, grinning triumphantly in my direction.

I leaned back in my chair and threw my legs up. I grinned as I saw his body wince from the force of slamming my legs down on the desk I was sat at.

I put my hands together on my lap and stared straight at him, my eyes shining as they held his gaze, "Yeah, I know your father pretty well actually, Maddox is a remarkable alpha. You only got the job under me because I owed him a favour." I replied boredly shrugging my shoulders as I cut off the conversation.

"W-what, what-" I heard the skinny boy yelp, taking three steps back while wobbling.

I laughed, "You really thought I wanted you here, if it wasn't for your father and my relationship you would have been killed," I replied venomously, as if it were a fact. I laughed and watched the boy turn even paler after hearing what I said.

"You'd m-m-m-kill me?" The boy stuttered, pointing to himself as he shivered his features coated with sweat.

"Mmm," I grunted in response, leaning back in the chair as I put my arms behind my head to rest.

"Ahhh," I heard the boy screech as he yanked open my office door and began to run away, bumping into walls.

"HAHAHA." I growled, closing my eyes with a smile.

"Why is Maddox's son screaming down the hall?" My best friend Knox said with a giggle as he crossed his arms raising an eyebrow in my direction.

"Maddox wanted me to scare his son, apparently he's getting too big for his boots," I said shrugging at Knox.

"Bastard!" Knox muttered, throwing his head back as he leaned against the wall.

"That he is." I sighed heavily, flicking my pen in between my thumb and index finger.

"Oh, before I forget. Lilly wants you to come to the club with us, tonight!" Knox spoke casually his eyes never leaving the bright screen of his phone.

I rolled my eyes and looked away from Knox. He was always texting someone or the other, and I couldn't help but think he was a little too obsessed with his phone.

But Lily was a good friend, and I hadn't seen her in a while. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad to go to the club with her and Knox. Not to mention, that she was the Beta Female and would reprimand me if I didn't come.

I rolled my eyes at the thought, knowing full well what kind of night they had planned. "I'm not interested in going to some sleazy club, Knox. You and Lily can go without me," I said firmly, trying to focus on the stack of papers in front of me.

Knox let out a dramatic sigh. "You know, Lily won't like that Otis, you know what she did last time," Knox shivered at the thought, his phone now long gown down into his trouser pocket.

I couldn't help but chuckle as I tried to imagine what Knox had gone through. Lily was always a handful, but I never thought she would go to such extremes just because Knox was acting like an imbecile.

But I knew that I couldn't leave Knox to suffer on his own. After all, he was my best friend, and not to mention my second in command.

"Fine, I'll go," I said with a sigh, knowing that I wouldn't enjoy the club scene. But it was better than facing Lily's wrath, that's for sure.

Knox's face lit up as he let out a sigh of relief. "Ah, you're the man, Otis!" Knox fist bumped me as he started to walk towards my office door.

"You know," He began not turning around to face me, he carried on "You might be lucky and actually find your mate."

With that, he walked out slamming the door behind him, I sighed loudly as my hand came up to my forehead a headache already forming. My mind couldn't help but go back to Knox's comment, Find my mate. Huh? I thought deeply.

I sat there staring at the pile of papers on my desk, trying to distract myself from my thoughts as my mind wandered to memories of my past.

Memories of a woman I once thought was my mate rushed to the forefront of my brain, but she had left me for another man leaving me heartbroken. Hence, throwing all sense of the word mate out of the window. I sighed sadly as the memories resurfaced.

I shook my head violently as I gathered my belongings and walked out of my office, slamming it shut as I walked away. The word 'mate' made me shiver that was the one word that I did not want to hear for an eternity. I clenched my teeth.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Ow! Woman, I do not need a haircut!" I barked out in annoyance.

I winced slightly as Lily's long, sharp nails dug into the skin of my neck. She was always so aggressive, so dominant.

"Stay still damnit!" Lily barked, moving my neck roughly.

"Sorry, sorry," I muttered, trying to stay still as she worked on my hair. Lily was a hairdresser by trade, and she was damn good at it. But she was also a werewolf, and a damn scary one at that.

"Don't be sorry, just sit still," she snapped, pulling a comb through my messy locks.

I tried to focus on something else, anything else, as Lily worked her magic. But my mind kept drifting back to the idea of finding my mate.

It was something all werewolves dreamed of an event that would change our lives forever. For good or for bad. I gritted my teeth, to stop those meaningless thoughts coursing through my mind.

"Ahh, look what we have here. The notorious Alpha king being dominated by the Beat Female," Knox laughed loudly as I seethed, my eyes turning purple, indicating that my monster side was present.

"Know your place. Mutt!" I stated calmly, my eyes glowing purple onto Knox who shivered, fear coating his eyes.

"I'm sorry, Alpha King Otis. May I forever atone, my humblest apologies my King," Knox spoke in submission, his neck on full display to me. I grunted, rolling my eyes at Knox's comment, trying my best to ignore him and focus on the task at hand.

Lily had insisted on giving me a haircut before heading to the club, claiming that my hair was getting too long and unruly. I huffed.

As she snipped away at my hair, I couldn't help but wonder why Knox was so insistent on me finding my mate.

Sure, as an alpha, finding my mate was important for the pack, but after years of searching, I had all but given up hope. Especially since that bitch left me heartbroken.

Lily seemed to sense my unease and paused her cutting. "What's on your mind, Otis?" she asked, concern etched on her face.

I sighed heavily, not knowing where to begin. "It's just...finding my mate feels like a lost cause. I've been searching for years and have yet to find anyone who even remotely interests me."

Lily's expression softened, and she placed a comforting hand on my shoulder. "Don't give up, Otis. I am positive someone will replace that hole which was left in your heart years ago." Lily squeezed my shoulder tightly, going back to cutting my hair again.

"Otis, you're done," Lily spoke as she removed the black material from around my neck and she started to pack away her stuff.

"Otis, we'll be off now," Lily started to shout as she dragged Knox from of the floor still bowing at me. "We'll come and pick you up at 12:00. Bye!" Lily sung as she slammed my cabin door.

I sighed, Alone again, it seems.

I threw the towel which was hanging around my neck as I emerged from the shower, walking to the mirror above the sink. I gripped the edges of the sink in my hands, I rubbed the mirror with my palm. As the condensation cleared, I stared at myself in the reflection.

I soon felt a pang of disappointment in my chest at the sight of my reflection. My hair had always been my pride and joy, long and wavy, reaching down to my shoulders. But now, it was all gone, replaced by a shorter, more manageable cut. I sighed again, feeling restless and unfulfilled.

I looked away, as I moved quickly away from the sink and into my bedroom. I silently got dressed, black dress pants and a black button up, I casually left some buttons opened. I walked over to my drawers as I started to put on my golden bangles and golden rings.

"Why did I even agree to this?" I spoke to no one in particular.

I'm too old to go out clubbing, seriously what am I even doing anymore? - I thought to myself as I looked at myself in the mirror again.

I turned around quickly walking slowly towards my door, clicking it open. I walked out, slamming the door behind me as I went down the bending corridor to meet with Lily and Knox waiting outside of my cabin.

"You'll be fine, Alpha just stick with us not big deal, okay?" Lily reassured me for the third time as I tried to leave.

"Otis, you'll be fine now come on, let's get this show on the road." Knox shouted at me grabbing Lily as they walked towards the entrance, he waved me over.

"Fucking hell!" I muttered, starting to walk over to Lily and Knox.

"Shit. My humblest apologies Alpha King. Right this way!" Koda stuttered nervously at the door seeing me stand behind Knox and Lily. I gave a quick nod of my head, going in first after seeing Koda bend his neck in submission.

"Ah... ri-right this way Beta Knox and Beta Lily!" Koda stumbled over his words just now seeing Knox. Knox gives a curt nod toward the warrior.

"Thank you, Warrior Koda." I heard Lily as she spoke to Koda. I breathed a deep, heavy sigh.

The music blasted from the speakers all around me, which irritated me further, "Fucking noise!" I spoke trying to hear myself speak.

"Alpha King" I somewhat heard a voice call me from behind, I turned my body around looking at a girl no older than 23 put her shaky hands behind her back. The girl who stood before me looked at the ground from fear.

She spoke again, "Ple-please come t-this wa-way Alpha K-king!" she stuttered most likely from fear, she walked away to an empty booth that had the words 'VIP' written into the table. The frightened girl pointed to the table.

"Thanks." I spoke gruffly to her, as I sat down into the booth resting me head on my hand in boredom.

"Ju-just let me k-k-know if there is a-a-anything you n-ne-e-ed, Alpha." the girl stuttered scurrying off.

I scanned the area, looking for any sort of immediate danger, whilst also locating my beta's presence in case of attack.

I nodded toward him; he nodded back in understanding. I sighed heavily. I want to leave - I thought to myself, the blaring music giving me a headache. I squeezed my eyes shut, the headache forming more rapidly.

I raised my hand, waving the stumbling girl down. "Y-y-yes, Alpha King!" she stuttered looking at the table.

"Bourbon. Neat." I spoke going back to scan the surrounding area.

"Y-Yes-s-s! Right awa-y-y-y!" she stumbled down the steps walking away quickly to the bar.

I watched her run quickly almost tripping as she closed in on my table. "He-r-r-re you are Alpha ki-n-n-g-g!" She shrieked placing the glass in front of me scurrying off in the distance.

My head pounded as I thought to myself. I brought the cold glass to my lips, tilting my head feeling the warm, familiar burn of the bourbon rush down my throat.

"Mmm" I groaned, feeling the pounding in my head lessen. I leaned back in the booth as I gripped the back of the booth with both hands either side of my head. Closing my eyes, I sighed loudly. As I began to close my eyes, my nose picked up a scent. What is that delicious smell? I thought to myself.

I opened my eyes, scanning the area for the source of the scent. That's when I saw her, a woman sitting at a table not too far away from me. She had long, flowing white hair that cascaded down her back in waves, and her eyes were a bright shade of green that shone in the dim lighting of the club.

She wore a tight, dark violet dress that hugged her curves in all the right places, her legs crossed elegantly as she sipped on a glass of water. The dark violet dress complimented her milky, white skin.

I couldn't take my eyes off her, my gaze locked on her as if in a trance. I don't know how long I sat there watching her, but it must have been a while because the bourbon in my glass was gone and the girl who had brought it was nowhere to be seen.

What is this scent I'm smelling? I wondered as I smelt it even closer to me. My eyes opened automatically, I smelled try smelling the scent again - could... could it be? I wondered smelling the scent etching closer to me until I froze.

My eyes glowed brighter, grabbing the attention of every werewolf close to me. My eyes burned a brighter purple as I growled lowly staring at the deep green eyes staring back at me.

"MINE" I growled animalistically head.

My little mate.

Anonymous, the two chapters are from the perspectives of two sets of characters who haven't met yet. Presumably they will, but they're at the club for different reasons; perhaps read the chapters again?

These two chapters don’t seem like they’re even from the same book. The only thing connecting them is the dress she’s wearing…maybe. First part is all about Maya and Clover and Mike. Second part doesn’t mention any of those people or that it’s a sex club or why/how they all happen to be there.

The story is good so far, inasmuch as it's still in its infancy. Personally, I don't mind the pacing, but I'd recommend looking into the volunteer editor program; there's some funkiness sometimes that (at least for me) breaks me out of the story, which makes it less enjoyable. I will continue to read if you continue to write, though

If you put chapter 1 & 2 together then it actually is equal to being an actual chapter. Story seems cute as far as Alpha sensing his mate goes. Hope each future release isn't a mini-chapter every few weeks to drag it on and on.
