Beth needs to explore more before she finally gives Mike a chance. I am looking forward to more from the invisible, tarot generated, 'Death', as Mike does need some male buddies besides King Reggie. Great to see you picking up this six star story again, it's been an enchanting read so far (and not just because I'm in love with the fairies) and a chapter with only a little heart-stopping drama is nice for a change, too (I love the fairies under all circumstances).

I'm a little miffed at the new character being male (even if this headless horseman has a head but no horse), actual fuckable monsters numbering only 16 so far (and that's including the Mandragora) of which 3 haven't even teamed up with Mike yet (even though Dana subsists on Mike's 'essence' (and she used to bring over pizza (which is good too))). No, I'm not counting Baba Yaga or the Utah Arachne, and I have little hope for any female rats.

Anyway, I'm already looking much forward to the next chapter!

this story started out interesting, with an interesting premise ... sadly the author seemed to forget that a story is supposed to have a beginning, a middle, and an END ... not endless chapters of a middle that turned into total stupid a LOOOOONNNNG time ago

I started reading hfhmg near the end of book 1, and was hooked pretty quickly. I just finished a full reread, wrapping up chapter 42 the morning this one was published, and was impressed at the neatness and tidiness the storytelling. And your imagination. And your grasp of and ability to express emotions.

You've taken what could easily be a schlock genre concept, and set yourself up with a real swing for the fences with a tale about life and death, love and loss, memory and identity , and a whole host other poignant, heartfelt, human themes. The memory and identity themes are explored with particular skill, and I really hope to see where you go with all these!

In your bio, you call yourself the JK Rowling of monster erotica, but I think another solid comparison for you is Neil Gaiman.

Your charachter mike is soo conflicting. Some times he's the cool, smart and rational dude. But most of the time he's just an emotional, screaming guy who doesn't know what to do in any situation.

By now I would have guessed that my guy has progressed as a caretaker, and would know the worth and dangers that go with it. Why does he keep getting caught of guard? He's supposed to be this computer whiz, those type of people don't get caught of guard and panick. They regroup and analyse.

You should improve and mature him. He's not a kid

What a great image - who among us has NOT burped soda (and thinking he or she was slick) held it to blow it out his or her nose only to discover the nose-hair burning, eye-watering, grab-at-your-face-because-you're-certain-it's falling-off PAIN of doing so - all attempted slickness well and truly gone!

They couldn't be more wrong. This is one of those kind of stories that turns into a long lasting series. You have tons and tons of appreciative fans who love your work. I've been reading this story since the beginning and have loved it from day one. I'm not sure how your marvelous imagination comes up with some of the plots. I will say that I really will be upset if Cecilia doesn't come back. I can't see him not making the headless horseless man take him to her immediately. It would be totally out of character for him not too. You say this book is about the house itself, I hope we won't have to wait for the next book to deal with her. I love the Story but this episode was after waiting for almost a month was boring until the end, I wish the chapters were longer.

Once again you have outdone yourself. Your story has so much life and depth to it that I can not believe it has taken you so long to get published. Please don't kill off Cecila, the house and her family need her back. Maybe you can have Tink build a Trojan Porch Swing and fill it with the killer ninjas you threatened to send after me when I asked if I could put you story in PDF form (grin).

This episode was great. Nice to have a gentle happy chapter on occasion. A recap from time to time is quite helpful, as you have quite a few characters to keep track of (and good or bad, they are all terrific.)

Okay, so we have the tarot card Death (love Yuki's cards btw), zombie Dana ("dead girl" as Tink calls her), and now a dullahan, BUT we are still missing our resident death spirit Cecilia!! I should be mad, but after three amazing books I trust you to give a satisfying resolution to her absence. The start of a new book looks like this will be a major story thread with the Fae and should be interesting.

They're still working on the soul shard Oliver left in Berth. I wonder if there is more to it hmmm...

I like the residual tension between Sofia and Yuki. With this many characters in play it's not realistic that everyone gets along perfectly all of the time.

Never thought a haircut could be so sexy and I like Abella being a voyeur again. I'd like to see her playing with her tail some more, maybe you could do a solo scene or two for a little variety.

I'm already imagining the kinky possibilities of Sulyvahn's detachable head and I'm sure Beth is too ;)

At this point there are enough non-POV characters around that it'd be fun if there were occasional sex things happening in the background, or that Mike stumbled across, that the POV character didn't instigate. If the monsters are horny, seems like there'd be some action not involving a POV character from time to time. Just saying!

It affected my mood and made me feel sick to my stomach, as Cecilia is my favorite character. I searched the comments for words of encouragement and found none. I almost quit reading the story all together. If this is you, don't stop reading. Keep going

I love how your love for your characters and your attention to detail makes even these "intro" chapters into something interesting, something worth reading...

It feels a bit like someone crafting a miniature world (in my country, model trains and landscapes still are a thing) and adding interesting tidbits/little scenes here and there.

And, by you having placed some time in between this and the last chapter, it allows you to "say some new detail" for every known character, keeping also the old reader interested!
