"Bill?" Casey called out her rebuke for his temper while looking over her sunglasses.

He waved her away, "yeah I know."

"Sounds like a fuel problem." A deep voice came from the other side of the fence.

"Excuse me?" Bill couldn't help but sound irritated.

"Your mower, sounds like it's got a fuel problem." The voice came back.

"And you'd know how?"

"My dad had a small motor business. I used to help him on weekends."

"How about you come and get it going for me then."

"Ah, okay I guess. Do I have to go around the front to get to your place?"

"No there's a gate. I'll open it for you."

Bill looked back towards his wife who had heard the exchange. She raised an eyebrow as a question and Bill shrugged a response. If it gets the fucker going I don't care, he thought. Bill went to the gate and undid the latch before pushing it open.

"Wow, I couldn't even see that until, you opened it." The voice said then a large black man came through the opening. "Hi I'm Terry."

He held out his hand for a handshake. Bill shook it gingerly, there was something about this guy. He was sure he'd seen him somewhere before. He had a baseball cap on with the peak pulled down low and large sunglasses. They pretty much hid his face making it hard for Bill to get a good look. Bill explained they'd put the gate in so they could check on the elderly neighbours that had lived there previously then pointed towards the mower.

"Did you put fresh fuel in it?" Terry asked as he started walking towards the mower.

"Yes, and I've checked the oil."

"Have you got some tools?"

"Yeah, in the shed I'll get them."

When Bill came back out of the shed the man was kneeling beside the mower.

"Down here there's a little bowl under the carburettor. Most of the time the problem is in there. I'll just turn off the fuel then take it off and we'll have a look."

While Terry worked Bill tried to place where he'd seen him before. He was big athletic type but probably ten years older than Bill so he doubted he would have played football against him.

"Here's your problem." Terry pointed to to small metal bowl he was holding in his other hand. "Got some water and grit in here and I'd bet your fuel lines blocked. If I turn the fuel back on and work the float I reckon it should start again."

Terry turned it back on and sure enough no fuel ran out. He fiddled with around a bit. At first there was a trickle and then a steady flow of fuel. Happy with his work he put everything back to together then pull the starter cord. The motor coughed then caught and started running smoothly. He shut it off.

"Thanks for that. You've saved me a trip to the mower shop next week."

"No problems."

"Are you going to introduce me to your new friend?" Casey had come over to the shed.

"Yeah sure, Terry this is my wife Casey, Casey, Terry."

"I think you're the first guy I've met called Terry," Casey said as she shook his hand.

"It's Terrance but you can call me Terry."

"Terrance... Terrance..." Bill mumbled. The man saying his full name had triggered Bills memory. "Wait up, Terrance as in John Terrance Hudson?"

The big guy shook his head ruefully and took off his sunglasses.

"Can't get anything past you Bill."

"Fuck me!" Bill exclaimed. "JT Hudson in my backyard."

"Whoo up there, who's JT Hudson and why should I be impressed?" Casey asked looking slightly bewildered.

"Only one of the best running backs every to pull on a pair of boots. MVP in two Super Bowls. Most run metres in a season three years in a row."

"I got lucky with some good quarterbacks." JT said with some humility although Casey could see he liked the adulation.

"Well if you played in the NFL it's no wonder my husband knows who you are. I sometimes think he's married to the television during football season."

"I'm not that bad."

"Oh yes you are. Yelling at the screen, telling them what play they should be running, how bad the punter is..."

"Maybe sometimes, but only when it's called for."

"Did you ever play Bill?" JT asked.

"I played a bit in high school and for the first year at university."

"It is a lot tougher when you're out there you know."

"My husband is being a bit modest. He made the USC Trojans as a freshman and was going really well but got a bad injury." Casey added.

"What position did you play?"

"I was the field goal kicker and punted sometimes."

"Hang on, what's your last name?"

"Er, Forsyth."

"Bullshit! You are Bill Forsyth?"

"Um, yes..."

"The Bill Forsyth of the Forsyth fake?"

"Yes but how do you know about that?" Bill was bewildered by JT's enthusiasm.

"Everyone who's serious about college ball knows about the Forsyth fake. A majority of coaches still show the footage to their new players."

"Wow, you're almost a celebrity," Casey's gentle mocking made both Bill and JT smile.

"So what happened to you?"

"Got crunched and wrecked my shoulder."

"Couldn't they fix it?"

"Yeah they fixed it but Casey and my twin boys took priority. I couldn't afford the time off from my two part time jobs if I got injured again."

"Bad luck man. Anyway I'd better get back to my yard. It's a jungle back there."

"I'm not surprised, it's been eight months since anyone's lived there. Did you just buy it?" Casey asked.

"No, I bought it a while ago. Advisor suggested this area had good potential to increase in value so the plan is to spend a few dollars then flip it."

"Don't you have a house in the hills?"

"Yeah but I've got an infestation so it's being fumigated. We've got to be out for a week. My wife's gone to her mother's but I thought it would be a good chance to tidy this place up and make some plans. First time I'd seen inside it was last night and then I didn't get much of a look because the power wasn't on."

"You, you were there last night?" Casey spluttered.

"Yep, I wouldn't recommend sleeping in a house you don't know without lights. It's really creepy. I had to come outside for a while."

JT's expression and tone gave no hint that he was inferring he heard Bill and Casey's tryst the night before. Bill had no trouble reading Casey's interpretation though as her face turned from red to puce. She looked down to hide it and turned slightly so she was facing away but Bill could see her ears were practically glowing.

"Well, I'd better get back to it. Nice to meet you both."

JT started walking back to the gate and Bill fell into step beside him. The black man complimented Bill on their garden and pool area.

"I admire your work ethic Bill, if it was my place I reckon I'd be laying back enjoying the water on a warm day like today."

"I'll be in there later." Bill hesitated then went on, "you should come over when you've finished. No better way to cool off."

"No, it's okay I wasn't angling for an invite." TJ said as he opened the gate.

"Offer still stands Terence. I might even have a few brewskis in the fridge to help you rehydrate."

"If I come I'll bring the beer."

They shook hands then TJ went back to his own yard. When Bill turned around Casey was advancing on him with a stern look on her face. She pointed to the house and shooed him inside.

"Fuck Bill what are you inviting him over for?"

"Just being polite honey. He got the lawn mower going for me."

"But what if he heard us last night?"

"That's pretty unlikely. I mean how long were we actually making 'noise'?" Bill held his hands up making quotation marks with his fingers to make it clear what he meant by noise. "A couple of minutes? Maybe five?"

"He still could have."

"And what if he did? He's going to be here as our guest. What do you think he's going to do?"

"I don't know, it's just embarrassing, that's all."

"Having a healthy sex life isn't something to be embarrassed about."

"It is if you do it in public." Casey shot back.

"We were in our backyard."

"It just makes me uncomfortable, you should have talked with me first before inviting him."

"Yeah okay, I should have done that." Bill hoped giving some ground would stop this escalating. "He sounded very non-committal anyway so he probably won't come. Let's just get our jobs finished so we can put our feet up for the rest of the afternoon."

"Okay, you're probably right..."

Casey shrugged and Bill pulled her into a hug. They held each other tightly, silently reaffirming their love then Bill kissed his wife on the forehead.

"Let's go."

Bill gently turned Casey around so she was pointing towards the door. She started walking away giving him the opportunity for a playful slap in her behind. She whirled around pointing her finger at him.

"Don't get too frisky mister, you're not completely off the naughty list yet." Casey said as a playful rebuke.

They went back to gardening duties and were finished in a couple of hours. After a shower Bill put on a pair of swimming shorts and t-shirt. He watched Casey select her most modest one piece bathers then cover them with a long sun dress. Together in the kitchen they put together some snacks then went out to the pool. The lure of the water outweighed their hunger so both jumped in. Bill's stomach won in the end so he got out while Casey started doing some slow laps of breaststroke. Just as Bill was about to go and get himself a beer a voice called out from beyond the fence.

"Yo Bill? Does that invitation for a swim still stand?"

"Yeah sure JT," Bill replied.

The fence rattled as JT opened the gate and stepped back into their yard. Bill could see he had changed out of his work clothes into some long shorts and an open neck shirt. The fingers of one hand held the handle of a six pack of imported beer. When he was close enough he handed one to Bill and took one out for himself.

"I'll put the rest in the refrigerator." Bill said as he took what remained of the six pack off his guest. "Do you want a glass of wine honey?" He asked before he went inside.

"No thanks, I'll wait for a bit." Casey replied as she hung onto the pool edge at the deep end.

When Bill got back JT was still standing beside the day bed. He was chatting with Casey who had moved around the pool to be closer but also so only her head and the tops of her shoulders were visible. The conversation was polite and casual. The weather, the neighbourhood, the garden. It didn't take long for Bill to steer it towards football so Casey stopped listening and continued doing her laps. They'd both finished their beers when JT called out to Casey.

"Is it okay if I get in the pool with you? I don't want to disturb your laps." He added politely.

Casey didn't object so JT unbuttoned his shirt and took it off. Bill saw he was still in pretty good shape. The muscles were quite defined on his arms and chest but there were a few extra pounds stacked around his middle.

"Do you want another beer?" Bill asked.

JT nodded as he walked towards the stairs at the shallow end. He was standing in the water leaning against the shallow end wall when Bill got back. He joined his guest and handed him his drink. Casey was still swimming her laps. The football talk continued until JT indicated he wanted to get wet. He dived under the water and didn't surface until he reached the other end. JT wiped his face as the water rolled off his shaved head. Then he joined Casey swimming breaststroke back to the shallow end. She turned and continued on but JT stopped. He stood up and winced. As he started walking back towards Bill JT had an obvious limp.

"Are you okay?"

"Yeah, yeah," JT dismissed Bill's concern. "Just the cold water giving my knee some trouble."

"That's why you retired isn't it?"

"Yes, that and I was getting too old. I'd had two knee surgeries before and I wasn't going to line up for a third." JT flexed his knee under the water before he started making his way towards the stairs. "I'll just walk it off. Usually comes good pretty quickly."

"Maybe Casey could have a look at it? She's got a doctorate in physiotherapy and lectures at the university." Bill explained.

"It will be fin... arrr." JT stopped mid stride and reached underwater clutching at his knee.

Casey had stopped at the deep end of the pool and was watching their guest. He straightened up and hopped over to the wall. Using his thick arms he heaved himself up onto the edge, swinging around as he did so he faced the pool with his feet still dangling in the water. Casey started swimming towards him ignoring JT's assertions that he was fine.

"How long has this been happening?" Casey asked when she was standing in front of him.

"On and off since I retired. It's like I told Bill, they said I should have an operation but I don't want to go through that again."

"Do you mind if I have a look?" Casey asked.

"No, knock yourself out."

Bill's wife began her inspection. "Damn that's some meaty scars you have there." She traced two raised twisted lines that run down either side of JT's knee.

"And they wonder why I don't want the butchers to have another go."

"It's nearly all keyhole surgery now. Just one hole for the camera, one for the instruments." Casey explained.

She lifted and manipulated JT's foot to judge what position made the knee painful. As Bill watched his thoughts were taken back twenty years. He knew Casey was in her professional mode. She would do this all of time at the athletic clinic at work but not in a swimsuit. It surprised Bill how quickly the same feelings of apprehension and desire returned. His wife's hands went back onto JT's knee. Her fingers pressed in sideways isolating tendons, muscles and bone. The black man yelped like a puppy. Casey changed the angle of her hand on the inside of his knee then tried again.

"Argggh," JT's big hand came down on hers. "Easy, that hurts."

"I'm not surprised." Casey brushed his hand away. "I think you've got a tiny piece of bone floating around in there. That's why it comes and goes. Every now and then it gets in a sensitive place. Against a nerve or where two bones meet. That's what causing your pain."

Casey instructed JT to turn ninety degrees, bend his knees up then put his feet flat on the tiles at the edge of the pool. She climbed out of the water and knelt in front of him. Going from one leg to the other she put her knee gently on each foot then with her hands clasped behind his calf muscle pulled towards herself.

"Wow, there is so much movement in that joint. Can you see the difference between it and the other one?"

Her 'patient' acknowledged it through gritted teeth.

"Lay them down now." Casey moved to one side as JT stretched his legs out.

She started to push the leg of his shorts up higher on his sore knee side when her hand suddenly recoiled. JT muttered a quiet apology then pulled the material up himself. More cautiously Casey felt around his knee again. She appeared to be searching for something. When she found it she used her other hand to push the top of JT's foot sideways causing the lower leg to twist. At the same time she pressed hard with her finger into the side of his knee again.

"That might help," she said. "Get up and see if it's any better."

JT pushed himself upright and gingerly tested his sore knee.

"Hey, that's great." He said lifting his other foot off the ground putting lol his weight on it. "I'll have to employ you to follow me around and keep me going."

"No," Casey stated firmly as she got up and retrieved her towel from the daybed. "I'll give you a referral to an orthopaedic surgeon. I'll drop it in your mailbox."

"She's not leaving me any wriggle room is she?" JT aimed his comment towards Bill.

"Well you could try and argue," Bill offered. "But I wouldn't recommend it..."

The men smiled at each other then looked towards Casey. She had finished drying herself off and was pulling the sundress on over her head. Bill noticed how hard her nipples were which he put down to it being a bit chilly out of the water. He also observed JT taking an extended look at Casey's figure while she was unsighted. Once her head appeared they both looked away but the look Casey gave them let them know she knew.

"Want another beer JT?" Bill asked wanting to deflect attention.

"No, I'd better be going. I'm part of the studio panel for the games tonight." Bill started to walk out of the pool but JT met him halfway. "Thanks for the hospitality Bill."

"Thanks for getting the mower going." Bill said as they shook hands. "Might see you later in the week."

"Yeah, I'll be around." The big man turned around towards Casey. "And thank you for the professional help."

There was that awkward moment when two people that don't know each other very well can't decide what is the appropriate way to physically say goodbye. Hands were hesitantly extended then JT got closer and leaned in for an upper body embrace. Bill's eyes were drawn to Casey's pale hand resting on JT's bulging bicep. They broke apart and JT gave Bill a friendly waved before he headed to the gate. Casey went back towards the house with her towel over her shoulders. Bill dried himself off then followed his wife. He found her at the sink putting some water in a glass half filled with ice. Bill moved behind her, wrapping his arms around her middle and pressed himself against her back.

"Get a bit hot for you out there?" He enquired.

"Hmmm," was Casey's only reply. She was unsure what exactly Bill was asking about and what to make of her own reaction to there recent visitor.

"Why did you pull your hand back?"

"When?" Casey stalled again but the lump in her husbands pants pressing against her ass soothed her unease.

"When you were working on his knee. You started to push his shorts higher up his leg and your arm came back suddenly. Then JT apologised."

"It was nothing," Casey couldn't help but smile as she teased.

"Must have been a big nothing. Your arm flew back like you'd touched a snake."

"Maybe I did..." Casey lent over a little so she could grind back against the Bill's growing lump.

"No way. Those shorts came down like, half way down his thigh."

"At least."

Casey pulled one of Bill's hands higher and pressed it against her breast. Bill cupped it roughly then squeezed the nipple between his thumb and forefinger. The moan from his wife made it clear to Bill where this was heading. He momentarily released his hold and stepped back. He pushed down his swimmers freeing his erection. Casey bent over further trying to keep a connection between them. Bill didn't want to waste any more time. He hooked his fingers under the material covering his wife's pussy and pulled to the side. Then he slid his cock into a very wet cunt.

"Come on preacher girl, work that cheerleader ass."

It was a frantic coupling. Bill slammed into his wife from behind. Casey braced herself against the sink and flexed her hips in time with his thrusts. By the time they had both got their climax sweat dripped off their bodies.

"We need a swim again." Bill said pulling up his swimming trunks.

"Maybe you should turn the A/C back on before you attack me next time." Casey said.

"Just doing my bit for the planet," Bill replied smirking. "Are you coming back out?"

"No, I don't think this is decent anymore."

Casey turned around. In his eagerness to get Casey's breasts free from her swimsuit Bill had ripped it open down the centreline to her bellybutton.

"It will be fine." Bill tried to pull the material back together but it wouldn't stay. "It's only us anyway."

"No, I'm going to have a shower."

Casey stepped around a clumsy attempt by Bill to entrap her again and went upstairs. Bill went back out to the pool. After a quick dip he got distracted by chores. He tested the water before adding some chemicals. Cleaned out the pool robot then set it back to work. When he ventured back inside Casey was sitting on the lounge reading something off her iPad. Bill grabbed a beer and sat next to her. He turned on the TV switching it to the sport channel. The evening football game hadn't started yet. A panel of ex players and broadcasters were previewing the nights action. JT was sitting at one end of a long desk.
