All Comments on 'If I Needed Someone'

Though I don't agree with the ending, when trying to put myself in his shoes. I do understand the quandary he finds himself in. When someone saves your life, you feel obliged to reciprocate. But keeping her around only makes everyone more miserable and misery is just that, misery. No one wins in misery.

I am 'relatively' certain I would toss her to the curb even after 23 years or whatever it was. Because having been married over 36, I would kick the one I have to the curb, though she owns my heart.

The old saying rings true. Once a cheater always a cheater and my wife and I have seen it replayed again and again amongst our friends over the decades. We only know of one couple who stayed together and are 'reasonably' sure she isn't cheating again. But time is against her and I'm sure at some point, she'll do it again.

She gave her kidney out of guilt, not love. She gave it freely - her choice. He owes her NOTHING! He never asked for it. He had no say in her cheating, he had no say in getting her kidney, both were her decisions, and hers alone, so he owes nothing now! Her guilt trip worked to perfection. He was all set to dump her when she was cheating, so what changed? He got one of her kidneys. So what. He was an idiot to stay with her. She was never going to tell him the truth until she figured out that he already knew. That's not remorse, it's self preservation and self pity. Just because he got her kidney is no reason to stay tied to her.

His moron status was complete by staying. She basically told him to his face that the reason she stopped seeing the other guy, NOT because she felt guilty for cheating on her husband, or because of her love for him, but ONLY because her lover was too rough and too crude, and not willing to change! She would STILL be cheating if he was more gentle! She told her husband, in so many words, that she felt no guilt for cheating and was SORRY that she was unable to get her lover to improve his technique, so she was basically just settling for her husband! And the moron stayed!

the idea of once a cheater always a cheater, doesn't always apply. I do believe their marriage will get back on track, and end well. might there be some pitfalls along the way, probably, but who doesn't have those. I don't think the reasons she cheated were fully developed in the story, but as written, she stated she still loved him.

Part of me wants him to kick her to the curb. The whole. "I would have let you make love to me," crap, when she should have been wanting to make love WITH him, drives me crazy!

On the other hand, I do think that she is truly remorseful and will be working her butt off to make it up to him.

It would be helpful to know why she started the affair in the first place. There is no indication that there was anything lacking in her husband.

I have seen one or two cases where a cheater was "rehabilitated". that said though, we really do not see that here. She felt no guilt in her actions aside from not getting what she wanted which was to teach him to be nicer. she obviously still wanted something that she either couldn't, shouldn't or wouldn't be able or want to seek from hubby. now she gives him a kidney out of guilt, think about it, the kids are right there so not even getting tested is not an option. she is with the kids all the time, so when she comes back as a match she can't refuse now can she? She starts to be remorseful due to her actions, but now sees what it would be like without the meal ticket. Now she wants him to see a shrink, why you ask, 'cause he isn't interested in her skanky ass. But, that would mean that he knows and that can't be. as far as a fairy tale, it's good. as far as reconciling, they need some major therapy, I however would have the caveat that anything and everything that she says or does during her sessions be open to him but not vice versa.

Not fixablle without some very major happenings between the two of them.

It's quite a tangle isn't it. He has an additional obligation to stay married to her. In reading it I missed the flash back, and thought her cheating was current. There are a lot of reasons to have an affair, or cheat. Some of course feel there is no good reason to cheat, and others might say there are good and bad reasons. If he willfully refused her sex for six months, then it's a willful breach of the marital vows (the have and to hold bit) that's perhaps a good reason to for her to seek sexual satisfaction where she can find it.

If he could not have sex, and refuses to willingly, joyfully accommodate her by hand, mouth, or toys they have a companionate marriage, he again willfully made sex is no longer part of the marriage. If it's no longer part or the marriage, then you can rationalize sex as outside of marriage and therefore not cheating.

Saying once a cheater always a cheater, makes as much sense to me as saying once you burn yourself on a stove, you never learn your lesson, and will burn yourself again.

The prudishness, or lack of libido on the wife's part is something else. Is it true once a prude always a prude?

One other point. Stories are often carefully crafted so dialog may be precise. However in common speech things often come out inaccurately, which can be deliberately misstated or poorly stated accidentally giving the wrong idea. This is especially true under excitement or stress. So her explanation of why she ended the affair might shift a bit under the long conversations that I imagine they would have had, which properly not part of the story.

good, unique storyline. Well done. A few thoughts:

1.) why did she start the affair? That doesn't seem clear. She didn't want the strange sex he was pushing on her, saying that she was trying to make him gentle like her husband. Then why start an affair? She was the one turning him down.

2.) so he is willing to take her back because she agrees to be more adventurous in bed? I know there is the element of the kidney donation, but it comes across as him staying with her because ultimately he will get better sex.

I have to agree with some comments...The story is good, the dilema the writer found is intense, with a lot of psychological implications, but being the wife she was in the last 5 years, why did she felt the need to cheat, to have another man? However 4* for the plot...

And that's the part where he sees her having the affair and wants to throw her out. Past that, I have trouble with it.

You see, I saw the woman I was going to make my wife have an affair. I answered a call to a local hotel and fix their computer system when I saw my girlfriend walking with her 'ex' boyfriend toward and disappear into a room, just as I was getting my tools and paperwork. After about 90 minutes or so, I saw them come out, kiss and walk hand in hand to her car where they kissed again. Then she went back to work, while I called in and went home 'sick'. I had a dozen cell phone pictures that were clear as a bell.

Wendy lived with me supposedly part time, but it should have been considered full time. By the time she pulled in, I had all her stuff packed and on the front porch, the locks changed and a picture I'd downloaded and blow up to 8"x11" tacked to the pile of her shit. The I left on vacation for a week, hiking in the Wind River Mountains of Wyoming. I'll flat out admit, I didn't always see the sights, my eyes were filled with tears much of the time.

When I got home, her shit was gone and there was a note taped to the front door. Of course I had to read it and it was just the same old stuff, it was a mistake, it didn't mean anything, she loved me, etc, etc. I filed it away and went on with my life, having already called my folks to tell them the wedding was off and to cancel everything. It was Wendy's folks who were most hurt, much of the money for a wedding only 6 weeks away was non refundable.

I didn't contact her when I got home. Our town is about 7500 people and instead of staying where I lived with her, I found another place, a small 2 bedroom, 1 bath home for rent and moved in. I left no forwarding address with my last landlord. In a small town we would undoubtedly run into one another at some point, but I'd cross that bridge when I came to it. It was a friend of hers that ran across me first, while I was in a small deli, having lunch during my lunch break. She apologized for what Wendy did, letting me know how bad Wendy felt. I let her talk and then finally excused myself, saying I had to get back to work. Jackie seemed surprised and asked if I would forgive Wendy and I said "Who?" She again repeated, "Wendy." About the fifth time I said "who?" she figured it out.

I didn't see Wendy for almost 5 months. It was during the Christmas shopping season and I had avoided her called, hell, I deleted them all the moment I heard her voice. She had purposely met another man, went into a room with him, took her clothes off and spread her legs for him, letting him fuck her pussy until he came. And did it I assumed, numerous times. Whether it was once or one hundred times, it made little difference to me.

We came face to face as I entered a sandwich shop. She was just leaving and I had ordered and paid and was moving down the line to pick it up. I saw someone stand up and thinking I might find a place to sit and eat, instead I found Wendy trying to leave unseen with the guy she cheated on me with, Tom. I ignored her and after eating my sandwich at another booth, left for work again. She was waiting for me outside. Seeing me set off a firestorm. She went wild, trying to find where I lived. My friends kept it to themselves and it wasn't until the next summer she found out where I lived, but by then, I had met a girl that moved into the area for work and we really hit it off. Unlike Wendy, she liked to hike, camp and fish, even to the point of usually out fishing me! By summer we knew this was IT and had a small service behind my parents home, her own parents were fairly old and not just poor, but sick. After we married, we drove the 1100 miles to visit with her parents for a week, they are really great people.

Wendy tracked me down toward the end of summer, Annette and I had been married for 10 weeks and 2 days! I should also mention, Wendy was/is about 5'2" and 145lbs, Annie is 4" shorter than me at 5'10", weighing about 135lbs. Tall and willowy! I was sitting out on the deck one Saturday morning when Wendy pulled in. It took her a few minutes to gather herself but she steeled herself and came up onto the porch. I was sitting on a porch swing and she took a seat on a bench seat. She started in again on what a terrible mistake she made and wanted to make it right. She loved me and only me, Tom was only a mistake. I guess she didn't think I didn't know what she'd done.

I asked her if she loved me when she spread her legs and let Tom bang away at her. I asked her if she loved me when she moved in with him after I booted her out. I asked her if she loved me while she was fucking him during their time together. I asked her if she loved me when she cheated on him with a guy she worked with and Tom ended up kicking her out too.

She was sitting there shell-shocked from my rapid fire questions when Annie finally came out with the two cups of coffee and carafe she was inside filling. She offered Wendy a cup when she realized we had company but Wendy just shook her head no as she took in the tall, lean and blond haired beauty that took her seat next to me, after handing me a cup of coffee. Her voice was small when she asked Annie who she was and found herself unable to speak after Annie held her hand out, showing off her diamond ring (small as it was!) she was so proud of, then announced herself as my wife!

Wendy had the good graces to excuse herself after wishing us luck. Annie already knew who she was and I was surprised she was so pleasant to her. It angered her greatly after I told her my story. Annie had no such story, she was an actual real live virgin on our wedding night! Wendy never bothered me again after that, her few friends told me of her devastation after having learned she no longer had a chance with me. She ended up married four times and divorced all four times over the next 8 years. By then, Annie and I had two boys who were both in preschool and kindergarten and as Wendy was a teacher, she saw my boys every day.

No way. I'm sure had he been conscious and aware he would have refused the kidney. Dialysis would have kept him alive to divorce the cheating cunt and to go on the donor list. I know for a fact having received a kidney after waiting almost two years. So this was a marriage that would have died, with his bad kidney, had he been conscious. Damn

If you are going to keep her, make him quit his job. Instead of calling his wife, use the affair to blackmail him into quitting. The fear of an expensive divorce should work. What I would like to see is a continuation of one of these reconciliation stories. I know that if I was Paul my love for Gwen would eventually dry up and die. With the kids full grown, a man his age has a lot of opportunity out there on the market. When he starts to notice it, and he thinks about his wife, I think he would want to move on to another relationship, one without the baggage.

She finally did what he needed and confessed but she never really explained why she started to fuck her coworker. She claimed he was rough and verbally abusive so why go back three more times for more. Also telling his wife might only get them fighting with them getting past it just like him and his wife so that's no real revenge is it. She quits her job why they should of forced him to quit. Also being a non violent man myself after 24 years of marriage I don't think I could get past her fucking some guy four times and telling how rough he was trying to force her to do stuff sexually I would have to beat him for me , for her and just because. I guess people live with it and move on but he would of known that he messed with the wrong guy I would not of stopped until he quit his job and his wife left him hopefully. Charges against the company they worked for just to start trouble until the fired him if he didn't quit. As for my wife I guess I would try to stay but I don't think I could . The kids would have to know depending on there age and it would take a lot more than new sex moves to keep me. You can always find someone who fucks and likes different things in bed. The kidney would not be an issue she felt guilty , she probably really loves him but it didn't stop her from going to a hotel 4 times . The questions that will come up over and over would be Why is he better , bigger, more attractive, etc.. If she wanted it rough or more often why not attack her hubby more , ask to do it different ways . Why do people seek others to cheat with for this when they have a hubby or wife in bed with them every night.

but you left out a major component of what would have been in the conversation about the wife's affair: Her rationale or explanation as to why. The husband never asked either and that is not normal. He'll never know what made her hang horns on him and if he needs to be expecting it in the future.

I wish that you would turn out some new ones, this one came out before I started posting comments and with the condition of my memory I do not remember if I read it previously or not. It is certainly a condrum.

I really did not see where she said that she gave him her kidney because she was feeling guilty but if she had communicated this position to him then I would have told her to close the door on the way out... But it was a well put together story with one POV and we are tied up in knots because we do not know why if she had a low sex drive she would have an affair, or would it be the old problem of making sure you are not missing anything. Still a fine 5* story.

In fact, from most authors, I would have assumed it was a true story. Your prodigious and varied output has me guessing though. My life has been rife with coincidence; which for the most part, I have come to recognize as Providence. I have seen how coincidence and chance occurrences have led me to be a better person.

The coincidence of Paul catching Gwen at the motel and then getting T-boned by the kid resulting in a new kidney from Gwen, seems like a horrible streak of bad luck; but in the end saved their marriage. When you realize Providence looks to eternal ends; you can recognize the hand of God in your life (using hind sight of course).

As usual, the toughest sell in any reconciliation story is... If she loves him, then why? And how can you ever trust her again? Here too, the why is left unanswered. But I believe she has earned another shot at trust as I do believe she loves him. However, if not for that accident, their marriage was toast.

I've commented on this story, and I don't know if I mentioned it, but I think the word communication had a lot to do with their problems.

It's amazing how many annoy's comments (stories) appear on other stories throughout LW and there is always the ex-boyfriend name Tom. I've lost count on the stories placed in comments with Tom fucking annoy's wife or girlfriend. Just how many wives and girlfriends have you had?

I've read this story many times and I always come away with the same thought. What if the cheating wife was having great sex with her lover? Would she have stopped screwing the guy and still given her kidney to her husband? Or would she let her husband die and keep fucking the lover?

Again, annoy, post your stories of Tom in LW and give us a break.

Also, since the kidney came from a cheater, does that mean the husband will turn into a cheater?

It's amazing how many of these "Loving Wives" treat sex like it's a chore, something she's doing for her husband, instead of an act of love between two people who care for each other.

I think the story could have been much better if she was denied the opportunity to save him (and shed some of her own guilt) if she was turned down as a donor because she had an STD. Whether or not he dies (and I do believe she was truly remorseful), that would have (again, based on her genuine remorse) been harder...to find out that not only could you be directly linked to the accident that could kill him, but also that you can do nothing to save him as a direct result of the affair that was being held.

But that is not the reason for my comment today. I went back through the comments on this story to an earlier time in LW history and made some surprising (to me) discoveries. There have always been some Bat-Shit crazy comments , both anonymous ones and also ones from named members , but it really has degraded over time. If anything , it seems there were even more anonymous comments then than there are now , but the civil discourse was much greater then than now.

Today we have some commenters who have thoughtful and enlightened discourse in the comment section who put forth their positions either emotionally or philosophically , and its easy to see the difference if one steps back and just looks.

I am one who uses raw emotions in my interpretations of the stories I read , I guess that is just how I am wired up. In one way I kind of wish I were more clinical in my thinking and less emotional , but at 47 years of age , I don't see that happening. Old dogs and new tricks , you know ! Lol , chuckle.

But I digress , it's interesting to read comments from members who , if they post now , I've not seen them . Folks like KOLKORE ,Kanga40 , peggytwitty , and many more from years gone by . Their comments were very Philosophical in nature , with very interesting points that made one want to reread the story while looking at it from a totally different angle.

Today's LW comments are a far cry from those heady days. Now it seems that at least 10% are taken up by the bonny/vestie Troll and another 10% by the fools who fall for their trap and respond to this crap. Maybe this isn't the format for my thoughts on this subject , and I apologize to HDK for using his post for making my observations . But I would truly like to see a semblance of proper discourse return to this genre that I have learned to love over the years that I have visited this site. Yes Literotica is technically a porn site , and a large percentage of the visitors come for the titillation of erotic stories . But it is actually much more than that to me. I have come to almost love certain authors , and nothing pleases me more than to find a new post from them , it truly can brighten my day. And if nothing new tickles my fancy , I have the archives and literally hundreds of stories that I have read before, and will happily go and sample them again.

We all (authors and readers) have a wonderful thing here , and I suggest that we all start treating it and each other better , and I'm putting myself at the top of the list for improvement .

This one fell short for one main issue. If she would have had great sex with her lover would she have felt any guilt? This is a question that has been raised many times in the past but it remains a valid issue to the basis of the story.

Besides he didn't need to stay with a cheating wife just because she gave him a kidney. George Lopez didn't stay with his wife even though she saved his life because of her kidney donation. And from what anyone can say, she didn't cheat.

But I want to know if Mrs Pool called him back and if he sued the kid, his insurance and his family and collected big time? Unfinished story in my book.

No guarantee they will stay married. They need to get back to the therapist so they can explore why she was giving it away to an asshole. And it is correct to speculate what would have happened if the other man was kind, caring, and a great fuck. This is a good story, I can see something like this happening in real life. A long term wife should deserve some consideration if she falls off the fidelity wagon for a short fling. Not necessarily forgiven, but take the whole time together into consideration. Think how hard would it be to replace that kind of experience and knowledge. Saving your life would definitely be on the plus side.

Yes, there may be a few holes in that we know little about the wife's reasons for the affair but it's written mostly from the man's perspective and IMO it's finding the middle ground between BTB and RAAC which is commendable. Having been married for however many years you don't throw it all away and not when she donated a kidney to save his life.

I thought about this for a while. I guess that I'm just a damaged, cold hearted asshole. I can only think of rape, currently, as the only reason to stay married after my wife had sex with someone else. I would have divorced her, sued the company where they both worked, and sued the ass for alienation of affection or severe mental trauma (depending on the state). Her giving me a kidney would save her from revenge for the affair. I don't believe that there's forgiveness for an affair and definitely no RAAC.

So, 23 years with the same man and she's never initiated sex with her husband. Oh, if he initiates then she goes with the flow sometimes but more times then not the last 5 years she's always had an excuse to beg off and say no to her husband. If the husband is going to take an chance then I think he needs to insist on a few items. Such a polygraph to assure this is the only time she's cheated and that she's actually stopped. She gets tested for STD's. No telling where her strange dick on the sides been or in whom. Post nuptial agreement where if she cheats again then she gets less than a 50/50 split of assets. Making find a different job was his only smart move so far. Plus, she has to know reconciliation is a rough rode with no guarantee and can she live with that.

One thing that just occurred to me on this reading, is her donating a kidney in some way mitigating her guilt. But it was seeing her that "last" time (would it have been the last if he hadn't had the accident?), caused his distraction causing the accident. So, she sort of owed him the kidney anyway! She sort of said that herself.

I don't think he owes her a debt, since as I said above, it was her fault that he needed the kidney.

As she said donating her kidney was a selfish act. Even though she donated, she has NOT suffered enough for a RAAC. If there was true remorse and public humiliation, maybe, just maybe RAAC is in the cards

Wonderful story, great idea. Just one disturbing paragraph which doesn't fit:

Hmmm cheating should also be equated in. Lets say 10k per fuck for the other guy sounds fair, hence, 52k per loveless year.

I assume nobody in their right mind would sell their happiness for that amount of money, therefore I conclude the man in this story got ripped of and the cheating bitch got away cheaply. With that I conclude my exercise and wish you all happy Easter.

I have to admit, with the way the last couple of years of their marriage were portrayed in the shower scene, and the following conversation, I don't feel that reconciliation was really earned. She donated her kidney partially out of guilt. He kept her around afterwards, not confronting her about her affair, because he felt indebted to her. She may have come clean about her affair on her own, but to me, it only happened because his words about how she had been treating him just dialed up her guilt to 11. We don't even know how the affair started, just that he just roughly fucked her like a slut.

I would have liked to see her earn her redemption more. The hubby takes a bit of the blame at letting things get so bad - a little communication could have gone a long way to prevent the affair from even happening. I'll admit that I doubt that would have done anything, though. The wife probably would have feigned that nothing was wrong, and the affair would have still happened. Who knows, maybe he did try, and it wasn't mentioned.
