THE GOBLINS
Faith woke to the sounds of screaming and the smell of smoke thick in the air. She quickly leapt to her feet and ran to her cell door to peer outside. It was dark out again but the landscape was lit by the many fires burning through the village.
"What is going on," thought Faith. At first, she hoped the Iron Order had come to rescue her, but she knew that couldn't be the case. She wasn't due back yet and burning villages was not something they would ever be a part of.
As she looked more intently, her eyes adjusting to the darkness, she saw smaller figures darting about, all apparently armed with crude looking weapons -- Goblins!!!
"Fuck, fuck, fuck," swore Faith as she saw the smaller figures darting about, setting fire to buildings and striking down villagers as they fled. Faith paced, not knowing what to do and feeling trapped, until minutes later when she heard the lock on her cell door pried open. Faith spun, ready to face whatever was about to enter.
