I have to agree with secretsal, he could have hired a call girl or similar at any time. Besides that, it was a bit cliché laden with the girl being turned round by Mr super sensitive. Question: if he's so good at what he does and such a great guy, why did Beth fall out of love with him? Also why did he need revenge? So she found another guy, she didn't want much from the divorce and from what was stated she didn't stop him from seeing his son. So what's the big deal? Millions of marriages break up, they don't all go apeshit looking for revenge. I guess this was to appease the sad 'real men.'

Not a bad story regarding the industrial espionage, but I'm not sure it was a good idea mixing two plots, the narrative became a little desperate trying to make everything work, it actually had the opposite effect unfortunately, as it was unclear what the main storyline was meant to be. One last point: when two people hold a conversation, rarely do they use each others names. They might when trying to gain attention or to stress a point, but certainly not at the beginning of every sentence.

This felt like kids playing cops and robbers. Not a likable character here.

I'm always amused by the folks who say a story is poorly written because it didn't end up the way they thought it should. This wasn't perfect. Beth was a 2-D stereotype. There's a bit of the "whore with the heart of gold," but if it's good enough for Dostoevsky, it's good enough for Loving Wives. Overall, though, well written. It's too bad that Tommy was so hung up on John Fucking Roland that he risked his embryonic relationship with Jillian for a shot at revenge. I wish he'd told her the whole story, and asked her if she wanted to help. As it is, she will never forget his whoring her out just like Frank, and it will always stand between them.
