The key to a well written story is 'show not tell'. Don't tell us what each thinks, show it in how they react, what they say, how their eyes sparrow, stutter, blush. This is a well told story suitable for recounting but because you leave the reader nothing to do, it becomes a less interesting read.
For those who deemed the Snow Bunny series by this author as flawed for lacking a proper introduction to the characters, this chapter sets that aright, and does so with interest and with the author's unique style. While the love scene is rather brief, this chapter is important in "setting the stage" for the stories that follow for these characters.
