How weird...

I’m a French native and while I loved the story I had trouble because I was trying to make sense of the French words. I know Marcia isn’t supposed to understand but it was curious. And it felt like a translation from English to French. He would say “Profondément” for “Deep” in this situation for instance. The “danz” took me a while. You don’t pronounce the s in “dans” however you do make the liaison in “mes yeux” so it would probably read “danmezyeu” (the x at the end is silent too). And “pawploopensay” (the “de” shouldn’t be there but it would probably be “ne plus penser” instead). Sorry for nitpicking 😅

Merci, French reader!

I would like to start by saying I thoroughly enjoyed this story. I could clearly hear the French accent in my head and it was strangely alluring. Great job, Juke! To our French reader; I’m British with very limited French ability but I shared your struggle with some of the language used. I recognise that the the protagonist wasn’t supposed to understand anyway but I couldn’t help trying to translate! It was really helpful for me to read your thoughts and adaptations. I’ll probably read it again now and enjoy it even more!

I think this is my favourite story. Nothing more to be said!
