Very well written. I appreciated his concern for "precautions" even when she had already told him "in me". If I had a quibble, it is over Janice's assumption that being a young male with an erection, he would be happy to have sex with her. It would have been nice for her to not be so blunt with her invitation to sex, and for her to explore the issue with him before making the offer. While young men are driven by hormones, not all young men necessarily want to have sex at the first opportunity. Realistically they barely know each other, and he might have a desire to lose his virginity with someone he is in a committed relationship with.
