The stories ok, some redemption towards keeping his "man card" at the end when he stuck with his decision, but still another situation where in the beginning if he had the courage and self-respect to stand up against her stupid female delusions, the marriage could have been saved. Is it 100% guarantee NO of course not but I'd say with her character 75% chance, and even if in taking charge he didn't save the marriage he would have not had to endure any of the extra lies, disrespect, and feelings of resentment. If you're trying to save or even just add some spark to a marriage understand that all "sharing, swapping,swinging, or an open marriage" do is hurt the marriage and 90% of the time completely end it! So save yourself from any extended stays in "living hell" and see that they are all

just ways to end it.

Do married women really do these declarative ultimatums of dating new strange men after so many years of marriage and motherhood? Maybe the setup plots occasionally happen. And certainly the running behind the back. But really the declarative premeditated ultimatum thinks veiled as a stern request? A common LW trope but unless the wife is mentally ill, find it hard dto believe that it is remotely common.

No anonymous they don't. A lot of times chicks go through menopause around the same times kids move out,so emptynest syndrome plus menopause can equal wife problems. Even more problems if the are doing HRT for menopause, most are hpyper-sexual

It was agonising reading at times, waiting for the MC to come to his senses and understand what his wife was trying to pull on him but we got there in the end. Helen's epiphany at the end seemed a little unlikely as people as egocentric as her do not normally ever take responsibility for their actions, preferring instead to believe that the rest of the world is wrong rather than themselves.

Automatic 1 star for him moving to the spare bedroom. NO! Absolutely not! I understand the reasoning behind not wanting to go back into the master bedroom after her “romp” but by surrendering the master bedroom he has acknowledged his complete acquiescence and acceptance of her being in control. That must not happen! Burn the sheets, buy a new bed, move all of her things out to the spare bedroom or ideally out of the house completely, but never, never give up the master bedroom.
