The ending...

Ending

At first I was against the ending, as “It was all a dream” (or the like) is quite a cliche, but in this particular case, it does lend more to understanding her character. We now know that she has these thoughts about her friends, about her professor, etc. These aren’t things forced upon her, they are what she’s hoping for. Character-wise, we now know so much more about her. Plot-wise, it does still leave a lot to be desired. Depending on how you approach the material, it could feel like “Oooooh,” or it could feel like “Ah come on, really?” It could easily feel like you’ve wasted your time reading because none of it was real. I connect with it, I see what you’re doing with it and that can work, but it can easily be misinterpreted. But the story itself is really solid, meets its intended purpose
