I thought it was weird that a man would be to write a male character so utterly spineless.

Just reading it, I was outraged on behalf of the husband and wanted to take an axe to Sam's head. I don't think a man could write this—not unless all testosterone has left his body and all male instinct has vanished. So, I'm glad to see that the writer is a woman. It explains so much about the characterization of the husband, though it doesn't explain childish writing.

I will say, if she was going for sheer outrage, I guess she accomplished her mission. Though, I find it weird why a woman would this story. I mean the wife ends up with her rapist. Seriously? Nevermind the fucked up kid.

Now she says she’s in love with him” oh and the “prophecy” scramble some shit on a paper and make a bullshit story is not that complicated. The dumbest part is it was his cock she loved. This story should have ended with the guy getting a letter after the bastard dies that lays out all the shitty things he did against the man. In the "real" world, what-ever that is if we accept the author's premises, that Sam character would have needed some powerful pharmaceuticals to carry off this plot with such accepting participants. I don't think real men and women, particularly married ones, are made this way. At least not sincere, honest ones. I just did not get the over all plot. I read Sam lost his wife and child in an accident, goes into seclusion and with the help of religion he embarks on a quest. with some prophecy. So his claim is to destroy some guys marriage and family. what if Eric and Katie already had children... then what? take her from her children and eric was ok.... if his wife and child were taken from him in a violent and wrong way.... then how is taking Katie away any different... I would rewrite the story with a happy ending and no wife stealing.. or cheating... its ok to be erotic but keep it with Eric and Katie.

I had some hopes at the end of Ch. 03. He was talking about revenge. As it turned out, he is not only a wimp, but a castrati wimp.
