Jeremy scowled at the words and growled as he looked out the window glaring. He pushed his head to the cold glass and closed his eyes, thoughts whirling in his mind, fury, terror, acceptance. "It will pass," The wolf said out loud to the car.

The fox opened his eyes to look in the mirror and Isaac continued, "This will suck for you, but it will pass. It's not a game over for you. Take what you can from the lesson and be a better dog when it's all said and done."

The fox let out a bitter laugh at his pep talk and rolled his eyes, "You're the two doing this to me, assholes. Don't preach to me and give advice."

"No, you did this to yourself, Jeremy," Isaac growled the words. "You thought you got away from it and you didn't. That doesn't make it any less wrong. You did this on your own, you will pay for it, if you want to blame anyone, look in a mirror."

The fox glared at the wolf through the mirror then looked away with a growl.

"You can blame me," Karen huffed the words in a mocking voice. "You tormented me for years, ruined my life, made me cry from nightmares almost every night since it happened." The rabbit poked her head up from the front seat and stared right into the fox's eyes. "I hope you seeth and hate me every day in prison for this, Jeremy. I want you to suffer like I did!"

"Karen..." Isaac spoke her name gently but the rabbit shook her head and kept going.

"Seriously... I don't give a fuck about the higher ground. You're an awful dog and you deserve the worst. If it weren't for the fact I would lose my life with Isaac, I would have beaten you to death right in your kitchen back there. Also, live with the fact the girl you once raped... is now your better and could easily snuff out your pitiful little life." Karen hissed the words and just sat there, glaring at the fox, waiting for an answer.

Jeremy clenched his teeth and finally pulled from her hard eyes, hissing a curse under his breath. The rabbit perked her ears up and gave a grin. "Mhm... Be a good dog and sit there and shut up. If you try goading Isaac again, I will make sure the next six hours are filled with pain and agony for you, both physically and mentally."

Karen huffed in satisfaction and turned back around, leaning into her wolf once more and closing her eyes. Isaac clenched his teeth, feeling a little sorry for the fox, he had never seen such a vicious side of her, it was pretty scary and a little hot.

The next few hours were relatively quiet, Karen and Isaac chatted quietly amongst themselves, Jeremy sat in the back, brooding over his life. When they finally pulled over at a rest area Isaac hauled Jeremy out of the car and walked him to the bathroom.

It was a single-occupant stall with just a toilet and sink in it. "I'm going to uncuff you so you can go, you do anything cute and I will make sure you leave here with fewer teeth," The wolf growled the words as he uncuffed Jeremy then leaned back against the door folding his arms.

The fox rubbed his wrists feeling blood flowing back into them more normally and huffed in relief, he then blinked at the wolf who was just standing there staring, "Uh... you're not leaving the room?"

"I'm not. Get to it." Isaac huffed the words and looked impatient.

"Gee this is awkward." The fox grumbled the words as he turned away to do his business.

The wolf rolled his eyes. "Yeah yeah... Never had gym class or been to a stadium bathroom?" He huffed and averted his eyes while the dog did his thing.

"Look I'm sorry about what I said..." Jeremey huffed the words.

"You said a lot of shit man, a lot of shit I don't care about. The one you owe an apology to is Karen, not me," Isaac growled the words sounding more irritated by the second.

"Yeah, I don't see her ever forgiving me, I get that though." Jeremy shrugged and moved to the sink to wash his paws.

"Not sure I could or would either, there are some lines you just don't cross." Isaac watched him out of the corner of his eye, making sure he wasn't doing anything stupid. "You good? Turn around."

The fox clenched his teeth at the words, "Those things are killing me, do you have to keep them on?"

"Yes!" The wolf growled, "Now turn around or I will make you."

"Tch... fine, can you at least loosen them a bit?" The fox barked the words feeling them snap back into place. The wolf looked down at the foxes wrists, pulling and pushing on them, "W-what are you doing?"

"Making sure you don't show signs of socket manipulation...." The wolf huffed as he eased the tension on the cuffs slightly for the fox before dragging him out of the bathroom.

Karen gave a grin at the two of them, "You have fun in there together boys? Take any pictures?"

Isaac rolled his eyes with a grin. "Let's get back on the road."

Karen glared daggers at the fox the whole while as if hoping he would try something so she could trounce him.

Once settled again the car was back in motion and Jeremy huffed before flopping down into the seat on his side and closing his eyes. Hopefully, he could get his mind to calm down so he could grab a nap and not drag this whole scenario out.

A few hours passed and he had indeed managed to drift off, his ears would occasionally fill with the sound of a song on the radio he knew, or the quiet chatter from his two captors upfront.

Karen thought about the words for a moment then spoke, "You know those old sayings about how revenge is a dead-end street, or will just leave you feeling empty?"

"Yeah?" The wolf perked his ears curiously.

"They are full of shit..." Karen huffed hotly under her breath, "Best day ever... I hope he suffers every day..."

Isaac whistled at the words while holding the phone up to his ear, "Yeah, it's done. Yep... Really? Well, sure if you want." He held the phone to Karen who looked at him and blinked, "Keys wants to talk to you."

The rabbit took the phone before responding "Uhm, hi?"

The voice was indistinct and she couldn't place its gender but they spoke in a fluid business-like tone, "Karen, allow me to congratulate you on a successful hunt."

"Thanks, but you and Isaac did all the work, I just kind of tagged along." The rabbit huffed the words feeling herself blush a little while she thought about it.

"Be that as it may, you were the one that stepped up and took the reins of fate, steering them yourself instead of relying on others to drive them for you." Keys spoke the words to her proudly.

Karen blinked a few times at the statement. "Reigns of fate? Okay, nerd... I think I see where Isaac is getting these lines from!"

There was a long moment of silence on the phone and the wolf looked a little upset and worried over the words, finally, a soft laugh came from the other side. "I can see why he likes you, I suppose I am a bit of a nerd, yes."

Karen grinned and stepped away a few paces flicking her tail. "I'm not serious, I do lots of nerdy things myself... So... what's up, Keys?"

The rabbit felt her ears fill with typing and she huffed her impatience after a few moments before Keys responded, "Apologies, Karen. I tend to be multitasking on several levels at all times."

"Sounds like my job, a pain in the ass." The rabbit nods in understanding walking back over towards Isaac.

"Ah jobs... The reason I wanted to speak to you. I've got a lead on a little birdie that flew the coop after posting their bail. If you and Isaac want to go bring him in, I can offer you sixty percent." Keys spoke the words in an all-business tone.

Karen's ears flicked up at the words and she looked over at Isaac, "Sixty? We would be doing the actual dangerous stuff, I'm gonna want at least seventy." The wolf slacked his jaw in shock at her words.

"Ha... sixty is more than generous since you're new, Karen. However, I like your confidence. Get him within three days, and I will give you seventy, any longer than that, I give you sixty. How's that?" Keys voice sounded genuinely amused at this point.

"I can agree to that, so long as it's not impossible to do within three days." The rabbit nodded while pacing back and forth in front of her wolf.

"Not at all, this isn't some underhanded tactic to keep my original quote. An experienced team could pull it off in two days tops. You pull it off in three and it shows you're competent enough to be paid like such." Karen listened to the words and nodded.

"Sounds good, You've got a deal. I will talk to Isaac about it." She spoke the words confidently and gave the wolf a grin who still was looking at her dumbstruck.

"Wonderful, I will text you and him the details after we finish this call." Keys chirped the words sounding pleased with the exchange.

"Cool my number-"

"I have it already. I will be in touch, Karen." The call disconnected and the rabbit blinked before pulling the phone back and handing it to Isaac.

"Why does Keys have my number?" She asked the dog curiously.

"Uh... Keys pretty much can find whatever they want. I didn't give it to them if that's what you're wondering."

Karen shruged then gave the wolf a wide grin. "Looks like we've got more work."

Isaac huffed and put his paws on his hips cocking a brow and ear, "I surmised that... Just decided for both of us eh?"
