Amy was in heaven for the first three weeks of her marriage. Until the call came, "Amy! This is Isabella!

Mark was seated at a polygraph table, answering questions.

The humiliation is nice, but as others have pointed out, nonconsent is really a niche inside a niche. Since it wasn't written like a typical jerk story, the fact that the main character, who we now sympathize with, doesn't get any sort of closure or revenge at the end and is simply left as a broken-down, will-less husk tends to cause offence - and rightly so.

The thing that disappointed me the most is that it was obvious where the story was going to go from page one and it didn't deviate from that path or the ending it hinted at whatsoever.
