A difficult read

The repeated use of the character's names ruins any sense of flow or continuity and makes for a tough read. Add to the fact that the plot reminded of gonzo porn (i.e. sex scenes loosely connected by a theme with little or no character interaction), and it is difficult to maintain interest. There is obvious enthusiasm for the genre by the writer (right down to the detailed inventory of Marilyn's clothing, which read like an ad out of a fashion magazine - note that no other character gets that treatment). The X's and O's of the sex is reasonably well done without too much use of the thesaurus. But any heat is pretty much lost in the telling. Bummer...
