I'd made my decision. I had to fix things with Mai. And that meant using the FUCKABLE FRIEND coin.

But how to get it to her? I called her phone five times that night, the coin clutched in my hand like a talisman. On the fourth and fifth time someone declined the call within seconds.

I walked over to her house in the dark and banged on the door. Her mother opened up and eyed me with a dark look. "Is she there?" I asked.

Mai's mom nodded. "She doesn't want to see you."

"Please."

"She doesn't want to see anyone." Something like pity crossed her expression. "Please. No more. We already talked."

Then she shut the door on me.

***

I spent the night agonising over what to do. I inundated Mai with text messages, begging forgiveness and hinting at something important that we needed to discuss. I thought about mailing the coin to her or dropping it into her and dismissed it as far too risky- what if her mother picked it up? What if the mailman handling it counted as taking it?

I didn't sleep much that night. The concerned texts from my girlfriend shouldn't have helped. They did.

School. I stepped through the halls and felt the difference pretty much immediately. Little things but a lot of little things. Girls- pretty girls- said hi to me as I walked down the halls. Geeks and nerds I'd had casual friendships for years with were standoffish and I swore I saw a flicker of jealousy cross their features as they muttered in my wake.

I reached my locker and grabbed my books. Turning, I moved over to Mai's locker.

"Hello?"

I turned to see Dawn eyeing me. "Can I...help you?"

Her hair was a little shorter- why was that, exactly? She hovered next to me. "Um."

"Why are you at my locker?"

"Oh! I didn't- I just- how are you?"

"Fine," she said. "Um, how are you?"

"Hey, did you remember the girl who used to use this locker? Mai?" I wasn't even sure why I was talking to her about this. "Um, do you know if anyone still talks to her?"

"Wasn't she your friend?" Dawn asked.

"Yeah." And I retroactively abandoned her, apparently. "Um, I just-"

"Hey, My Nerd."

I turned to see Olivia standing a little distance away, eyeing me coolly. Right behind her was Tracey with a smile like the cruellest of cats.

"I was just asking Dawn something," I said. "It's about Mai- hey! Why are you walking away?"

***

It was later. Specifically it was lunch and I was in deep shit.

I shouldn't- by all rights- be concerned about upsetting a girlfriend that wasn't actually my girlfriend or even a girl. I should be focused on talking to Mai and giving her the magical coin that would fix help the issue that I created by using the other magical coin.

(Fuck my life).

Bottom line was that there was no reason for me to worry about Olivia getting upset. There definitely wasn't a reason for me to be shooting her texts all day and there absolutely wasn't a reason for me to be meeting her in the sports locker during lunch.

But I think by this point it was fair to say that I was, in fact an idiot.

I opened the sports locker room to find the olive-skinned amazon lay sitting atop a crate full of sports uniforms like a judge in a courtroom. "Hey, my nerd."

"Hey." I moved over. Her shoulders were hunched as I sat next to her. I took a deep breath and said, "I just wanted to ask her something."

"Okay." Her expression didn't shift. "Tracey said..."

"Tracey," I said darkly. I'd taken the time to sort through my new memories of Tracey. The more things change...

She'd still been dating Olivia in this timeline. (Had Oliver been bisexual as well? I don't know.) Olivia had dumped her to be with me.

That's right. I stole the school's amazonian lesbian sports star from her sexy blonde cheerleader lover with the power of my enormous dick. Big fat ol' me. I was beginning to understand how I might have started to get a reputation at school.

(It wasn't really like that, I knew. Olivia was bi, she'd been looking to break things off with Tracey for a while and we had a natural chemistry that had nothing to do with any size issues. Mostly. More or less. But guess which story everyone at school liked to repeat?)

So Olivia broke things off with Tracey- they'd only been dating for a little while- and I braced myself for the worst sort of spiteful response. Instead the blonde schoolyard princess just...gave in. Turned the other cheek, found herself a new boyfriend and accepted me as part of her social group.

...it was bullshit. Of course it was all bullshit. I remembered-

***

"Heya."

"Uh-" I turned to see Tracey in the doorway. Tracey, with her blonde hair and perfect breasts, her face like an angel and her heart like a Disney villain. Tracey, with pride enough for an empress and enough charisma to make it all work.

(No, I didn't know why she and Olivia were still friends.)

She was wearing her cheerleading outfit- of course she was. Somewhere behind me I could hear the noise of the party. "You said Olivia was here?"

She smiled. "Actually, stud... I wanted to talk to you. You wouldn't believe all of the stories your girl's been telling me about you." She stepped away from the doorway and into the room. I took a moment to look at her. Her blonde hair was loose and settled around her shoulders and her eyes were hot with a look I'd come to recognise all too well over the last few months.

She shut the door behind her as she murmured, "I figured I might want to check to see if they were real after all."

"Look, I don't think-"

"Shhhh." She smiled as her hips began to sway. "We both know that a stud like you could be satisfied with just one girl?"

She began to dance to the party's music, her body moving with hypnotic grace. Her uniform left her bellybutton bare and I stared, open-mouthed, as her slim stomach flexed in time with the beat.

One hand trailed across that tight, taunt belly, then up, to trail over her breasts. She giggled and then her fingers dug into the underside of her top, and...

She wasn't wearing a bra underneath. Her breasts were pale and big- bigger than Olivia's- with pink, sweet nipples that were already stiff. She cupped them as she danced, eyes smoky, lips twisted into a knowing smirk. "Well? Don't you like me more than Olivia? Aren't I sexier?"

I didn't speak as she approached me, her hands moving to touch my chest. "Come on," she purred. "Just say yes, and..." her fingers brushed against the front of my jeans, against my hot aching cock. "We can..."

I moved on instinct. I would wonder later if it was strength of will or just some strange crossing of the wires in the heat of the moment that I shoved Tracey away rather than towards me; all I could say was the second I realised what I had done I was relieved. Halfway to the door I heard her snarl and turned to look. She lay sprawled on the floor, limbs askew and her eyes burned with the sort of righteous fury I'd always associated with madmen.

I met Olivia halfway down the stairs, where I'd learned Tracey had told her to come to her room to talk about something. I joined the dots quickly enough after that and kept the hell away from the vengeful blonde bitch that was my girlfriend's ex.

Back in the present I said, "I wouldn't trust Tracey on this."

"Really?" Olivia's eyes narrowed. "I know you like Dawn- liked her. I remember how I had to break you up."

Funny, I thought, thinking back. Her behaviour hadn't been all that different to how Oliver had behaved over the years- both of them doing their best to disrupt my attempts to get to know girls better. The difference was that Olivia had an ulterior motive for it all. "That was before..."

"Before?"

"Before I got a chance to know you, Olivia. Back then I thought you were a, I mean..."

"A bitch?" Oh, I needed to pick my next words carefully.

"Before we hung out. Before I got to realise how awesome, how funny, how sexy you are, how much I..."

-Wait, stop-

"...love you."

Oh shit oh shit oh shit.

Where had that come from? Why the hell had I said that? Just because I-

-had said it lots of times to her and meant it, oh shit. I stood up, clearing my throat. Mission accomplished John, time to leave-

"Sexy?" she murmured. "Hmmm."

And she bit her bottom lip. She stood up, her motions slow and luxurious. "Prove it. Show me just how sexy you find me."

I looked at the door. And then looked back at her.

...I was a stupid man. This had been made clear. And I think it was fair to say that my wires got crossed again.

So when she leaned up to kiss me, the touch surprisingly soft and tentative, I leaned into it.

So when she pressed against me, my hands- my traitorous, evil hands- reached up to cup those sweet, soft breasts of hers.

So when her hands reached down to stroke my cock, as they undid my zipper, I didn't stop her.

So when she pulled away to lean against the crate, her eyes hot and inviting, I didn't hesitate to peel off her jeans and pull down her pants. I smelt her need and the memories that it invoked swamped me, pulled me along and carried me away.

I knelt as she parted her legs and showed me her hot, wet cunt. She gave a happy groan as I buried my head between her thighs; licking and lapping at her folds until she shuddered. "Now," she breathed. "Don't fuck around. Give me your cock now."

She was ready enough, I knew. Even so when I pushed her back against the crate and slid inside her I knew to start slow. I groaned as I felt that welcoming tight slickness as she took the whole of me inside her, so familiar to me-

-from fake memories, don't forget it's all fake-

-and I knew how to please her. How to angle into her, how to reach down between us and tickle her little nub; when to drop subtlety and just take her, my thrusts becoming harder, my grip on her hands tightening until she shook with the force of me and then-

Her eyes went wild and she bit my shoulder to hide the screams. I left loose, fucking her hard enough to leave bruises. She was still riding out her orgasm when I felt my own pleasure peak.

We lay against each other, the mutual afterglow bathing us in its soft warmth.

"Love you," she murmured.

"I know," I said as the worm of guilt tore into my guts. There was a long, drawn out moment and then I said, "Do you remember my friend? Back from before? Mai?"

"Yeah." She lay back as I pulled out a packet of tissues and handed it to her. "She had a breakdown or something, didn't she?"

"I need to talk to her."

She began to mop up our combined juices. "Doesn't Alesha still talk to her online or something? Hey, wait- is that why you've been so...you know. Weird?"

Alesha was still talking to Mai? Go figure. "Yeah."

"Okay." She buttoned up her pants. "You need to talk to Alesha then, I guess. Hey, you okay for study tonight? All fun and games and shit but I really need to get my calc work done."

"Yeah," I murmured.

Well, if I wasn't in deep shit before...

***

I managed to get through the rest of the school day without screwing things up- or screwing anyone else.

I kept an eye on Alesha on the bus home. When we got out I moved to speak to her. "Hey."

The woman who never stopped talking to me kept her head down as she walked on ahead, her eyes forward.

"Hey. We need to talk."

"We don't."

"You still talk to Mai, right?"

"Drop it," she said, still staring straight ahead. "She doesn't want to talk to you."

"Please, look. This is important."

"No." She began to pick up her pace. "Leave me alone, okay?"

I ran in front of her, blocking her path. "Look- it's really important I talk to her."

"Why?"

"I-" I swallowed. "Look. I have something really, really weird to tell you."

***

So you're probably wondering: Why her?

Why did I talk to Alesha out of all the people in school? Not Olivia, not Dawn, not anyone else?

Well, firstly: see above about me being an idiot.

Secondly: I knew Alesha. I wouldn't say we were friends- we were definitely not friends, especially in this version of reality apparently- but she was someone familiar. Someone that I could talk to.

The other reason was that I was feeling guilty as shit and if there was one thing Alesha was good for it was judging people.

She sat on my couch, her arms folded, as I explained everything. The mysterious coin purse. Wanting to give it to Dawn before deciding at the last minute not to. Oliver taking it instead. Oliver changing into Olivia.

Losing Mai.

At the end of it she said, "Wow."

"I know."

"I mean, that's the weirdest line of bullshit that-"

"Okay, look. I know it's bullshit. I know it is. But listen. Imagine for a second if it's true."

"If it's true then you really are a massive piece of shit."

"That's-" I thought about Olivia's I love you. "Yeah. I can't really...I'm trying to make it better."

"I said if. Look, if you wanted to cheat on your girlfriend then coming up with this stupid story is a weird way to go about it." She snorted.

"I'm not- wait, you think I brought you over here to get into your pants?"

"You men are always trying shit like this."

"I want to make things better," I repeated. "I don't know why she dropped out-"

"You abandoned her," she said quietly.

"What?"

"You think this was all because of one night you didn't come over? She had problems. Anxiety issues... she was going through a seriously rough patch, okay? And you were too busy burying your dick in your fucking brainwashed bitch-"

"Hey."

"-to notice that she needed help. You'd done what every guy who finds a girl he can fuck does and basically dumped her as a friend."

"It wasn't me."

"It wasn't you?"

"It wasn't- it was- the coins meant-"

"I thought you said the coins changed Olivia."

"Yeah."

"Did the coins change you? Isn't this what you would have done, then?"

"I-" I let out a long sigh. I told myself that I wouldn't have done that. That I wouldn't have abandoned her like that, that I wouldn't have let things get so bad. That she had been my friend for most of my life and I would have noticed the signs, stopped things from getting so serious. That this wasn't me. Just the coin.

Only sitting on that couch with Alesha's cold stare, rifling through the fake memories, I couldn't be one hundred percent sure.

"Maybe," I said. "Does it change the fact that I want to fix this?"

"Well I did say if," Alesha muttered. "I still think the story is bullshit. Do you even have one of these coins?"

"Yeah." I got up and went over to where I'd stored the coin and the coin purse. "But whatever you do, don't touch it."

She sneered. "Why on earth do you think I'd want to do that? I don't want to wind up as one of your brainwashed sluts."

I came back, the FUCKABLE FRIEND coin in my hand and the coin purse in the other. "See?"

She leaned forward just a little to stare at the coin in my hand. "Hm. Looks expensive. You really pay for that?"

"No- look-" I sighed and put it away. "Anyway, I just want to- hey."

"What?"

"I think there's another coin." I hefted the suddenly heavy purse. "There's another one- it wasn't there when I picked it up a second ago."

"What's in it?"

I shook out the coin and held it in my hand. It read:

SEDUCTIVE SISTER.

I gently eased my hand forward. "Whatever you do, don't-"

Without even blinking Alesha reached out and snatched the coin from my hands. I sat there, gaping, as she shoved it down her top.

"What the hell? Why did you do that?"

She opened her mouth to speak and then shut it. She looked around as though trying to remember something. Then without a word she got up and walked up the stairs, entering the study/weight room and shutting the door.

I stood in the lounge, the FUCKABLE FRIEND coin in my hand, and tried to figure out what the hell just happened.
