Anonymousalmost 3 years agoCan you please flag it as non-consensual/rape at the beginning? In the spot where you mentioned the characters are over 18 would work.
Rape can be triggering for survivors and if you want to create a safe space for your reader you need to consider that springing this story on them might do more harm than good.

Anonymousalmost 3 years agoWish there was a content/trigger warning for rape. Not sexy or fun. Rape is rape is rape. I don’t care if it’s being used to set up a long story, it’s rape. Real, loving, consensual relationships don’t begin with sexual assault.
Anonymousalmost 3 years agoI hate to pile on, but this is not cool. I understand you intend this to be an ongoing story, but I can't see how we're to get behind your protagonist after this. A tiny bit of awareness from Lauren would have helped. As it is, the next chapter should involve the police. This is a great example as to why lesbian and gay categories should have sub-categories.
